Not 20 years old but then not over 55 either! The face sculpt is what put me off...as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, it reminded him of his grandad! :slap:lol

Frank is OLD! hell he was in NAM he should actually look older LOL!

Can't wait to get this one! 2nd flex payment will be taken out in a lil over a week....right after the full payment for the Darth Vader Mythos statue....my aching wallet hahahha

He was in Vietnam. The look fits

I rarely agree with you. But this time, you're right. :rotfl Punisher looks great. I didn't PO him but the PF looks fantastic. He is a man not a boy and one day, if we're lucky enough, we'll all live into our forties and fifties and beyond. It's nice when we see maturity in PFs too IMO. Not always teenage Spider-man. Punisher looks mid to late forties which is great. :peace

But that's like saying Superman and Captain America were in WWII so they should be 90....
comic book continuity that references the real world never apply for long.

Superman is an alien so I guess he doesn't count either.

Frank is a pretty dark character, makes me wonder what Marvel will do with him once most Vietnam vets have moved on.
Being ultra violent with no friends will only get you so far. Guess it all comes down to writing.

Id like to see them do something with an older Punisher kinda like they did with Superman and a few other characters. Or a futuristic one....not like the 2099 series....that was terrible.

Agreed, a good story with a much older Punisher that's just as much a character study as blazing guns could work. Maybe Pun up against Kingpin for the "final" time... Basically a violent crime novel.

I was at my lcs a little while back when an older guy (older than me :wink1:) came in that was going on about St. Rock, how much he loved reading them when he was a kid, etc etc...
The owner, who's about the same age as me (late 30's), was telling him how there is just no interest in war comics anymore, hasn't been for a long time now which is why he has nothing to show him.
Got me thinking about Punisher being a Vietnam vet..
Cap will always be popular, he's an Avenger, he's got serum running through his veins giving him far reaching abilities, he came from a much larger & more popular war that had villains that will make for great storytelling indefinitely.
And hes got those colors of course.
At some point I think (feel) there might be some generational disconnect with the Vietnam experience, I could of course be wrong. But if so where does that leave Frank. Almost obsolete.
Just a gun toting mad man shooting everyone he can, as long as they are the right people. Reminiscent of Travis Bickle.

Marvel 's doing best to try and phase out the Punisher
Phase out ?...don't think so

The Trial of The Punisher is out now and Marvel just announced a new/ongoing Punisher series that i believe begins sometime in November (?)...don't think there's an official title for it yet but most are tentatively calling it Punisher in L.A.

Edit - just checked and they are saying issue #1 will be ready for February 2014

Marvel will never phase out the Punisher. e's still an avid part of Marvel and sells comics. There's plenty of other characters that don't sell well that they could get rid of. Not to mention, like Hollywood, Marvel has run out of ideas to create new and original characters that have staying power. The Punisher will be around for a long time. No worries there.

Love that cover! I haven't really read any punisher comics at all but I may just have to read trials and this new one.

Punisher is almost Marvels answer to Batman. Except with guns.

As long as the storytelling is strong.
Even Superman was killed off at least once and Frank ain't no alien.
