Worst case scenario the figure releases and has a ****** sculpt but everything else is great so getting a custom sculpt wouldn't be so bad.
Bigbadtoystore has him for retailWill this be up for PO anywhere else? Never bought directly from the Pure Arts site before
I don’t think official release matters at all, Lim still can make one and I’ll buy all of them, bc we all know it will look amazing! Tell the team we are ready! Ha!We folks overseas have it really bad lol I'd only consider pre-ordering this if Kit had it but from what I know it seems you can only get PureArts' stuff through their own store. Either way it's probably wise to wait this one out regardless given their 1/6 scale output and I'm not a fan of the sculpt.
It was only ever a plan that never went beyond some 3D work. LIM and Master Team are already collaborating on a few projects, some unannounced, and Geralt was planned to be one of said projects in a more distant future, but not with rooted hair or anything of the sort. It was already suspected that PureArts had the license for 1/6 Witcher so that project was never given priority either. So I'm not sure if it's cancelled, but there's less incentive to go forward with it right now as there's an official offering available that looks pretty good in it's own right, just misses the mark on the sculpt.
You really tossed that coin hard! I agree it looks better than all the previous third party attempts. Master Team's Kaer Morhen armor version, while acceptable, had a lot more flaws than this one, inaccurate color scheme, pants so tight that you couldn't really articulate the legs, missing details, etc. This version has the best outfit so far, I love the use of real materials and that it has the right color scheme, but I'm worried about the underlying body and most of all the head sculpt. Sure the rooted hair is nice but the face itself doesn't look anywhere near the quality of what's to be expected these days, not at the price they're asking anyway.Preordered 3 on BBTS if it turns out horrible as most of you think I’ll reduce it to one. Despite some flaws my bby looks majestic and we can all agree that he’s better than previous versions. I have all of them. MT figures have been my favs till now, but this one puts them on clearance.
Definitely tossed all the coin I had lol (105$ deposit) I agree and I’d take sculpted hair version for a lower price over rooted, but unfortunately they didn’t give us any choice. Sculpt isn’t the best but overall it looks good enough imo.You really tossed that coin hard! I agree it looks better than all the previous third party attempts. Personally I wouldn't sleep on this. Overall internet reaction is pretty positive. And Geralt is more popular than most of the 1/6 figures they have done if not all. His sculpt isn't supposed to be realistic, Witcher characters are stylized so I think even if there gonna be a downgrade, it won't be as obvious as on realistic looking figures, also moving eyes gonna help the overall quality, they can't mess up the eye paint now lolFortunately, there's no limited or exclusive items, and many of their previous figures are still in stock on their website. So there's no rush to pre-order, and it seems much wiser to wait for the production version..
Personally I won't complain, after seeing more images on my computer in HD I think sculpt is very strong! Especially from some angles it looks spot on. Community has ruined some good stuff with their complaints for me. When they announced blue/red classic looking Spider-Man from No Way Home, I loved it so much, then everyone complained that he looked too old and they changed the sculpt to the generic looking head on the final one. I cancelled my preorder. If they see enough people complain about the sculpt or eyes etc. they might update it. I know for their Jinx/ Vi 1/6 statues that a lot of people expressed that the sculpts weren't great so they fixed them
Two is always better than one. ha!Just preordered my second with BBTS.
Yeah I think easily best Geralt on market, at least from prototype. Feel sorry for those that are missing out.Personally I wouldn't sleep on this. Overall internet reaction is pretty positive. P.S. btw his hair rubber band should be burgundy red.
When he has his iconic hairstyle rubber band is burgundy red and when you change it to shaved sides and ponytail it becomes brown

If this doesn't look as Geralt Idk what does. Beard definitely could have more detail. That's my main complaint.

I wouldn't even know what to do with two, let alone 3. I feel ocd having same exact figure on my shelfTwo is always better than one. ha!
One in action, one in heroic pose with a cloak and one in box in case something happens to other two lolI wouldn't even know what to do with two, let alone 3. I feel ocd having same exact figure on my shelf
For me the likeness is not that strong and the sculpting details and paint applications are very poor.Personally I wouldn't sleep on this. Overall internet reaction is pretty positive. I think Kit and Giantoy gonna carry this, they gonna reduce your total price. I don't live in the states either, I live in the middle of nowhere and I use freight forwarder located in the US as nobody ships directly to me so I pay shipping twice -_- that's why I bough via BBTS, they ship to forwarder address. Usually other stores don't as my shipping and billing address never matches. lolFor me the likeness is not that strong and the sculpting details and paint applications are very poor.
I would be concerned about the rolling eyes as well, sculpts with rolling eyes need to be properly tested so there's not a big gap between the eyeballs and eyelids. Hot Toys and other brands have mastered this by using very expensive equipment to cast highly detailed 3D printed head sculpts, instead of the old ways of using hand sculptors and having the heads go through multiple casting steps which always changes it a little bit. We don't know what equipment Pure Arts is using or how good their factory will be at achieving this.
Their final product cast and paint on 1/6 scale stuff is also very underwhelming from what I've researched. I think it's fine to have legitimate criticism of this sculpt given their track record and the fact this thing would cost me over €550 directly from their shop! Sure I'm still tempted but you said it yourself, Geralt is such an iconic character that I'm sure there will be more attempts in the future, but so far this is the best one.
