I wanted to stick to TOS, but I know I won't be able to pass on TNG crew.
I will space out TNG and TOS, and will try to diversify the cost within this series to bring down the MSRP.

As I tried to imply, there are conflict of interest between a developer and a business entity. I dont make the final decision. QMx does. I can only influence the final decisions the best I can with the objective of maintaining the existence of 1/6 trek. Anything that jeapodise the future of 1/6 Trek will have to pass over my dead body or I have to bent my back for it (I am very stubborn and have a never back down attitude, and these attitudes saved 1/6 trek many times and.continue pushing it forward)

Anyway, TNG will move on this summer and will finish with the main crew before the end of next year.

I only have 7 years left in 1/6 Trek. I must move faster to catch up the time that we lost in 2018.

Whichever can be approved by “Data.” The studio and the talent make the decision, not me.....

That’s neat info. I figured the studio had to approve but I didn’t know if the actors/actresses had to. Does that hold true for TOS too, do the actors or estates have to approve or do their deals with the studio predate those kind of contracts? Also nice picture of Riker you posted on Facebook. Can’t wait to see both TOS and TNG crews fill out and of course TWOK. Thanks for all your hard work you put into this line. It shows with the product.

Usually needs to go through them. Of course, it also depends on their signed contracts.

Was the staining ever addressed? Like is the figure on Sideshow now a new batch?
I'm pretty sure the problem wasn't solved, which kind of bites for Picard owners and potential buyers. Perhaps Nanjin can provide clarity?

Hate to beat a dead horse, but with more TNG figures coming out, one hopes the problem is or can be addressed.

Fortunately mine wasn't too bad when I opened him up. I just maneuvered the clear plastic that was around his neck when he shipped down around his collar so that it wasn't really visible. Hopefully that will be enough to stop any further staining.

Of course, that doesn't fix the problem.

The staining is an issue. But I noticed, the Picard that I have, has tolerable stain not to a point of distracting.

I was dreaming about this issue (just woke up). Because the staining issue was solved (I had a preventive measure in placed after Picard) and whike investigating the issue, we also found a new way to make the collar which improved the uniform appearance tremendously. The quality of cut and sew, head molds and paintup, all had big step forward when comparing to the 2 years old quality (wow, Picard has been in solitude for that long....)

I am thinking of doing something about it that I am sure would be a good reason to shoot me with arrows (by the non buyers). I will continue to brainstorm about this.

I love my Picard but did get annoyed at QMX customer service for telling me that the staining on the neck was normal and that hey couldn't replace the head sculpt. Especially after I had seen others get replacements.
With that being said, I have every confidence that Nanjin and his crew will address this in the future. I can't wait to see who's next.

This is huge mark on my record and it haunts me everyday. I will never forget and make sure it wount happen again.

Maybe you can shed some light on the staining issue as a whole across the 1/6 world. Customer's typically soak whatever the item is to seep out dye, which is annoying at best.

Is washing the clothes at production level an huge issue versus having the customers do it? It's definitely come up more and more lately with black/brown clothes being the worst offenders.

I was taught by the locals to test the fabric by soaking it in boiling water for 15 minutes. Or soak it in water that has higher acid level (ph) over night, then wipe the fabric onto a white piece of paper with a pointed object to see if it leaves any stain.

I did all the above and a lot more.... I only proved the is not a foolproof method but just a method that is better than.not doing anything at all.

After the incident, I called the founders of AXX, EX, Cxxxmxxxl, PXX, about the stain.

Then, I found out the followings:

1) only unsafe or toxic dye will have no stain on PVC because the color pigmentation are bold to the thread

2) staining has no time limits. It might not stain now, but stain in the future.

3) PE films going between PVC and dye fabric DOES NOT prevent staining. (This is why all new EX basketball figures with black uniforms are packaged separately)

4) as of today, there is no 100% foolproof remedy, thats why ALL companies put film to cover PVC parts. (very luck dependent)

5) the staining phenomenon is still in Gambling stage. No one knows the outcome at all.

So, I invented a new procedure, and some friends who are in production are using this method. Seems like it work... but it is effective but inefficient. It is only a HOPEFULLY preventive measure before production.

So are there no other black fabrics you can use that won't stain like that? I just assumed it was because these 1/6 companies were getting fabric that had a lot of extra dye put into them, because they thought it made the outfits stand out more, or because it was cheaper somehow. Because I've never had any issue with the black fabric I've used for my customs.
