I'd like the new bodies to upgrade mine so I hope we get some clarification.
Yeah, they dont list PO's until right before they ship, so it's not unusual to see POs for QMx products on a lot of other websites but no QMx website POs for a couple months.

I wont say a word on what happened to Sulu. But I did mentioned, there would be a glitch in Feb and March. At the risk of sounding rude, which isn't my intention at all, if everything is so improved since the original run of figures then why did we end up with a Sulu that looks worse than what we had been expecting and originally shown, and that even most hardcore supporters merely settled for as acceptable, rather than being truly satisfied by? Again, I'm not trying to be a d!ck in saying that, I'm genuinely interested in why Sulu seemed, to many, to be a backwards step? And is it a release that you are personally happy with? And also, why were both Scotty and Sulu apparently released in such small batches that many retailers didn't receive their full allocation, and as a result many who pre-ordered and paid for them have still yet to receive anything months later, and even now still apparently have months more to wait for a restock until we do?
Just thought I'd ask while you were here. And again, no offence meant in anything I've said/asked, if it comes across as blunter than intended.
No one cares about the uniqueness of Kirk and Spock,
They are using a new body that no one ever saw except me and the people who produced it. I havent even seen the production version yet because it just came out from the oven yesterday (I am in US)
This body was designed basing on the experience that I had with Trek uniforms. Then follow through with the tailors comments after a few samples were done. Prototypes were brought to show a few “inactive” 1/6 producers (that we all know well) for additional design concept confirmations and advises. This body is Produced and funded by a 3rd party, and will be available for general purchase.
With 40~60 weight distribution to help the figures to balance in free standing post, this body uses Pre-production Modulation to have 4 different heights. Reduced Lat muscle size so the arms can hang naturally and hold it's own hands behind the back (a killer post of Spock and standard Starfleet stand) Trek characters are not Bruce Lee, they only need “good” natural postures which is the most important part of Trek figures in my opinion.
Naturally the uniforms need to be re-patterned for the new body, and it wouldnt be difficult to my friends to know, I IMPROVE anything as i see them. All uniforms are done by handicaps, and were trained by 1/6 professional.
All plastic were done elsewhere but prepared and painted in my own facility.
Head sculpts are the old ones but they were painted by a group of handicaps personally hired by me and trained by the paint shops I used. I believe my girls had surpassed what other paint shops can do.
Beside the plastic press, almost everything else are done in-house by the people I personally hired.
The above are what I did for Trek, and what i did for Kirk and Spock re-issues.
Seriously, I was not happy with the figures that i did. I couldnt help to compare the figures i produced with the name brands....and everytime was disappointing. Every single piece or item done by HT were carefully thought through...and perfectly done. They improve in almost every new figure.
Trek received good comments because the fans want them and tried not to be as critical comparing to others' figures. I know this well. Trek figures are NOT at par with any name brands. We have ZERO production leverage. This is one of the reason I built a handicap production facility just for Trek figures. My people could be Trek uniform specialists, they can increase their effectiveness and efficiency as time goes. The handicaps were the abandoned in a society. Now, they have a place to show they can be better than anyone. I strongly believe they can be the stars in tomorrow's 1/6 production because they have hopes.
There are lots of happening behind the scene of 1/6 Trek.

I hate upgraded rereleases, they make me feel like a chump for buying a first release and supporting the line.
It'd be nice if we can trade our first releases in for the new superior version.
I have to agree here. I feel like the original figures have not been out / around enough to warrant a re release. Spock and Kirk are a couple of my favorite figures, but now I feel like I have to shell out $350 for upgrades.
Those of us watching EBay sellers charge $1200-$1500 for a Kirk to complete our crews would beg to differ...fortunately QMX agreed with us. September cannot get here soon enough!
Maybe I did not articulate that properly - I am not saying I disagree with a re-release of the figures, I am saying what I have an issue with is that they are updated versions of a figure that is not that old. So now I have to pay for entire new full figures to get the upgraded elements. It makes me regret giving QMX my early support with the set.

That makes sense...in fairness to collectors all around QMX should probably re-release the identical figures and then save any updates for true variant versions like a green tunic Kirk or a dress uniform or mirror Spock.
