QMX Star Trek General discussion thread

Every year in May we have the International Dixieland Festival in Dresden, with bands coming from all over the world. Giving concerts you have to pay for, but also there is one day where they play all over the city for free, and a big parade. It's always great fun with Bratwurst and beer and (usually) sunshine.
Some songs we danced to and sang together today were:

- The bare Necessities
- Down by the Riverside
- When the Saints go marching in
- Glory Hallelujah
- Ain’t she sweet

This forum is a ghost town, much like the QMx Star Trek figure line. Nothing but crackling sounds of burnt-out wiring and bodies everywhere. So much for that wish list. I'm putting the dream into a photon torpedo tube and jettisoning it to Genesis. May it live on in another era.

Nanjin says on FB that he's hoping for the next Trek figure to be released in Q4 of this year, but who knows if that's what QMX is planning or not...

I think some more definitive news on release would be comforting. If nothing is out until Q4, it means we'll likely only get 2 releases this year at most, whereas I was hoping for 3! There have been so many teased, the suspense is killing us.

History repeating itself like the Kelvin Movies.... an initial hit, but not capitalised on fast enough, so that when something else finally shows up people are like..."Is that still a thing?"

Could be they didn't know about them... but you'd think they'd at least mention modern collecting and these are the best thing out there for Star Trek action figures. I can't recall specifically, but I don't think any of the high-end Star Wars figures from Hot Toys or Sideshow were mentioned either.

Isn’t that show more about classic toys hence the title? Made Us, not that we’re still collecting. I haven’t watched a ton of it but seems like that would be the case to me.

I know is kind of quiet. But something good has been established at the other side of this operation. Once I am back to my position in HK/China then we will execute this plan.

The episode kept talking about how bad Star Trek figures were so I’m surprised they didn’t mentioned these as progress. They had Todd McFarlane instead to talk about having the license.

Yeah, that's the main focus... but I'd think in general it's a natural extension to touch a bit into modern since those older toys have also "made us" into collectors of high end stuff. Even if it's just a quick, "look at these things" during the credits. But if I remember even during the Star Wars one they left out some stuff that bridged the gap between the original vintage line and the rebirth in the 90's like those awful bendy toys

I had (maybe still have somewhere) some of those bendable Star Wars figures as a kid. I had Luke, Obi-Wan, C3PO, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader for sure. I think I had R2D2 too but I’m not positive. No Han or Leia though.
