Looks great to me, I almost like it more than what I see from JND but I just don't trust how it'll come out.

Surprised at the price, plus free shipping if ordered before a certain date?

Real fabric boots and the backpack bedding also, hate it that JND chooses to make resin versions when they could do fabric.

This looks more real to me if I'm being honest, as much as I think the pose looks strange and great, it looks like bts shots.

Need to see more from JND.

I actually prefer the pose on this than JND,
I don’t like the squat. Makes it a step too animated imo.

Plus if you’re getting multiple characters from the line, them all stood upright would look more tasteful and uniform to me.

I wonder what Viggo thinks

Yeah, overall after seeing the JND videos I do think queen studios wins it. The pose at first seemed strange but I actually quit like the stoicness, and prefer the outfit and real material selection. The hair is a lot better, and the price seems good for what it is.

I want to jump on it but I just don't trust their production. I at least know with JND what you order is exactly what you get. It's not as though I don't think JND is good, it is, and would probably be happy with it, but I think Queen did a much better job.

Queen definitely did a better job, I personally like the pose better too. I've not owned a Queen studios product but does the production pieces take that much of a hit in quality for you not to trust them?

You’ll likely want to get it repainted as the paint details tend to come out soft and the final materials may not be as premium, from what I’ve seen people note.

Damn that's a shame considering it's very expensive already and then potentially having to pay an extra few hundred dollars to get it repainted by a professional.

It’s certainly not a matter of fact on this piece specifically, as they could improve their production.

One you can really see this paint drop with is their
1:4 Ledger statue.

If you google "Queen Studios 1/3 Statue" you can find a good number of in-hand pics of their pieces and see how much they tend to differ from the prototypes.

Here are a few fairly recent examples, most of which are from Queen's own IG page

Cross eyed ZSJL 1/3 Superman

Cross eyed and bad hair 1/1 MoS Superman

Badly done rooted hair (particularly at the hairline) on this the ZSJL version

Huge drop in paint and clothing on production 1/3 Phoenix Joker. Production tailoring and material in the clothing is really bad

But, as @Nick D mentioned, maybe they'll take extra care with Aragorn, especially considering they're directly competing with JND this go around, even as far as implementing silicone sculpts which I don't think they've done in the 1/3 line before this and Gandalf.

I would hope with this being their first comparitive version of JND hyper real 1/3s that they need to be smart and match JND's proto-production quality otherwise most collectors won't trust their future releases. For some reason Queen busts have been having the cross eye issue since their Tom Holland and their production hair isn't the best. The new Terminator bust does look very good though so hopefully they're stepping up

Yikes some of those are really bad, especially that Phoenix Joker tailoring 😕

Not owned a Queens product but I do have an Inart Aragorn and although it looks good, it definitely took a good 10-15% drop from proto to production.

Yea, and that's not to say that JND are exempt from QC issues either, but theirs tend to be more regarding breakages during shipping rather than actual problems during productions rather than a drop in quality since it's all, or at least mostly, done in-house for JND rather than a factory to my knowledge. There are a few instances where there might be some paint mishaps like one of our members had a blemish on the bicep of his Reeve Superman statue for example. But there doesn't tend to be a real drop in overall quality the way that some Queen pieces tend to have.

I remember absolutely wanting the 1/3 Heath and Phoenix from them, waited for release and was shocked how much of a drop off they suffered from prototype.

I was very happy to not own them.

A lot of their prototypes look great and then suffer. I don't think I can commit to ordering with them, I'd rather wait and see, as it's more likely to be available after release than JND's with its low number.
