Saw it today in Glorious 70mm, Loved it. Jennifer Jason Leigh killed it....absolutely masterful acting but for my money Walton Goggins stole the show.

Quentin Tarantino sure knows how to throw a party.......

If anyone wants to trade programs I have spare Sam Jackson and Walton Goggins programs to trade up. Need the "Daisy" centerfold.

Oh I agree , Walton absolutley killed his role . Jennifer Jason Leigh provided the only comic relief I felt . Still undecided on this movie . Imagine 3 hours of dialogue, but no loose ends and a perfectly told and believable story .

Caught this in 70mm. Still digesting it but I loved it. I thought it was much better the Django (which is ranked lowest for me). Very intense story, with some great humor in there. I was worried about it being too long/slow or too talky, but it all flowed so well, similar to watching a small play. Also the intermission served well as a break in the story and also a chance to stand up and talk about what we all just witnessed. I wish movies still did those intermissions. The acting was perfect, and I'm sure everyone will come out of it with favorite character.

I find the movie was like a play, I saw today and from what I watched. I'm mulling it over... but I will say this Kurt Russell's performance was good as been in years. However I was surprised at Channing Tatum and Waltor Goggins roles.

But I will say this. SLJ's performance on making Bruce Dem's Characters son (which I cant tell was a ruse to kill the general or if he was talking factual.) made Brokeback Mountain less GAY :lol Kurt Russell I felt as the Hangman was cut way to early/ Also I found Tim Roth and Michael Madsen's parts kinda to the side as per previous films. No Dr. Schultz humor or etc. Michael's character was just like random. Roth was a executioner and yet Madsen was just a man visting Momma on Xmas. :lol Also... I find Taratino's script a joke from Django a bit hypocritical. When SLJ was Stephen in Django he said a N***** when his balls were cut off he bleed out for 7 mins tops before death. Here's SLJ as a Major gets shot in the balls and can still hang a woman? :lol

Is it better than Django Unchained? I hope so...
Negative, for me. I liked it, but think it was one of the lesser Tarantino movies. Great tension, though. Like bboy, I'm still digesting a bit, though. No doubt the acting was great, and dialogue was good, though its been better in his films.

I am looking forward to catching this next week. I never get the hate for Django, it's a great QT film.

At this point, I think I would rank the Tarantino films:

Pulp Fiction > Jackie Brown > Kill Bill 1/2 > Reservoir Dogs > Django > Inglorious Basterds > Death Proof > Hateful Eight

Though I like all of them. I thought one spot in Eight referenced Reservoir Dogs, by the way.

I would rank them as;

Inglorious Basterds
Pulp Fiction
Kill Bill pt 1
Kill Bill pt 2
Reservoir Dogs
Django Unchained
Jackie Brown

I actually saw it again this time with a few joints involved. Loved it again, the whole thing wrapped together is right up my alley I suppose. I would rank them something like this :

Kill bill (1-2)
Jackie brown
Inglorious basterds
Hateful eight
Death proof
Pulp fiction
Reservoir dogs
Django

There barely is a list at all in my mind besides Django being last (it was just boring to me). Never have I thought of re watching it. Kill Bill I can watch 1000 times and still think it's a masterpiece

I think you were smoking joints when you watched Pulp Fiction as well :lol

Seriously, ranked lower than Death Proof & Jackie Brown?!

Jackie Brown is a great film, IMO. On a given day, I may rank it over Pulp Fiction. PF wins in terms of innovation, but Jackie Brown is structured, and unfolds so perfectly. And I think Death Proof suffers from some of the juvenile dialogue for women obviously written by a man. But Stuntman Mike might be my favorite Tarantino character. And hard not to love the stunts with Zoe Bell.

Yeah i know, don't get me wrong I love pulp fiction. But yeah Jackie brown is higher than pulp fiction for sure, love the characters and music. ( maybe the lead characters are just more like able ). Maybe it has to do with my age but pulp fiction was always so saturated I've seen it so many times and can't remember a time when I haven't seen it. Death proof I hated when I first saw it and now I love it, underrated for sure. Maybe not quality plot wise or script wise, but very few films are as immersive as death proof. ( the girls conversations are long, but it leads to great pay offs both times ).

Personally Jackie Brown is the most unlike Tarantino film of the lot if that makes sense. The one thing I expect above all else in a Tarantino film is punchy dialogue. Jackie Brown does not deliver on that front. I found it dull. I wouldn't even put it in the same 'ball park' as PF.

Saw this, it didn't feel like a three hour film, which is great. I thought it flowed perfectly and Channing Tatum being in this took me for a loop, I had no idea he was apart of this until I saw the opening credits, I was like who the hell is Channing Tatum playing? lol As it goes Reservoir dogs and Django are my two favorite Taratino films.

I'll do my rankings QT style...:wave

4. Jackie Brown
8. Death Proof
2. Pulp Fiction
5. Basterds

Just saw the movie and I have to say it wasn't great nor terrible. It was an ok who dun it film with typical Tarantino flare. For some reason I just wasn't captivated this time. My favorites are Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Basterds. Only movie of his I actually can't stand is Deathproof, even though they went somewhere they didn't go anywhere.
