Did anyone ever get a chance to buy Cody,Jennifer and Lisa because i was on a list and got droped.
was that not available or what?

I did and they saidnthey dont know what happend but told me that they were sold out and sorry and that was all they said to me I was kinda ticked off.

thats Ironic I just got an email from them not 2 min ago due to that. I told them to offer it again and maybe wait longer than a few months before pulling the plug without notice.

I told Triad they should advertise the sculpts here and onesixthwarrior and maybe they would get more sales on the molded hair sculpts and not to pull them in under a few months. I hope my other pre-order dont get droped i really need those.

A fellow collector & friend and I discussed how Triad Toys is viewed on the OSW recently.

There was a time when the Triad Toys brand/name was much maligned for many reasons (justified & unjustified). With the release of their last batch of ALPHA female bodies from last year, it's obvious that the ALPHA is best readily available 1:6 female body at a reasonable price, but there is still preference for the CG 2.0 body from TAKARA TOMY. Overall, Triad Toys did well with the last batch of ALPHA bodies and they were well received by collectors.

As with anything, there will be always be detractors of any product from any manufacturer for a variety of reasons in any forum/discussion group (i.e. just look here).

I visit the OSW from time to time and I believe the reception there for Triad Toys has improved based on the merits of the ALPHA body. For the record, I used to be an overzealous supporter of Triad Toys . . . just like there are overzealous supporters of different brands/manufacturers.

However, I can say I'm no longer an overzealous supporter of Triad Toys (or any brand for that matter) because it ends up being lopsided losing credibility as a collector (i.e. look at what is going on with the two BCS threads).

I can honestly post/say that not everything produced from Triad Toys is/was perfect. Then again, it's not the norm for anything/everything produced by any manufacturer to be 100% perfect. Triad Toys definitely had issues with regards to production & quality and I can say this honestly. As for price . . . that's a common sore point nowadays.

I had disdain for certain members of the OSW who were critical of Triad Toys, but then again I ask myself . . . why bother? They have the freedom & right to post/say whatever whether is bad, good, right, wrong, etc. because that's what online forums & venues provide.

So yes . . . the OSW appears to be more receptive to Triad Toys than within this forum, but collectors/customers here and the OSW are not necessarily the same, but do overlap when it comes to certain 1:6 niches of which Triad Toys catered to a particular 1:6 niche (i.e. female figures & complimenting items).

The design & quality for items from Triad Toys have changed over the past five years. It's been a frustrating & interesting period depending on who you ask. As for their future in the 1:6 hobby, it's still open.

As for the OSW, I was wrong in being harshly & unfairly critical of the group as a whole in the past. Overall, they provide an outlet for collectors/enthusiasts of primarily 1:6 military figures as this forum does for collectors/enthusiasts of products by Sideshow.

I have seen that as well, I have just started buying Triad and although I wish the color of bodies and heads were more true to form the better they would sell.

The heads were not bad

Lisa was the only one that looked like she needed work, personally i wished jennifer had a longer ponytail but I could have had ski do it sometime. I really wanted jennifer and cody.
even though i was not fond of lisa i could have used her for Lady jaye with a hair tweek

its to bad i couldnt show something from both boards showing interest in these. I still feel triad pulled it to fast this is the 1st time I ever saw a company toy wise do this.

So whats going on with Triad lately? Are they bankrupt or something? They are cancelling stuff, their website has been "down for maintenance" for several weeks, and nothing from them on their Facebook site for a couple of weeks as well.

The website went down after they made the switch to no longer directly selling their own products, a move if I recall correctly they said was to help them focus more on getting their products finished and into peoples hands. Why the site is still down I have no idea.

We (Vantage Collectibles) are distributing Triad products now. Triad is still plugging away. They've released 5 new figures in the last few months, Abbot Fuyu, Abigail van Helsing, Iris Branham, Riza Miyamoto, and Natasha Kourdakov, just released two weeks ago, 3 new female heads, a handful of new clothing sets. We've got a bunch of new Triad products in stock, so I can't say there's any slowing in their output. :)

I hope triad will make better bootfeet so female figures dont look like their feet are huge

it would be nice if they made better boots so they didnt make the feet look gigantic

I did that last night, Im going to also suggesmore options for african american since this seems most difficult for them to do since the one we have seen was either to dark or sickly looking.

That is the problem with all toy companies if the skin color is an issue or they pick limited useful black actors. their is plenty of male and female black actors that could have multiple use.

for caucasians maybe pick some supermodels and female actors that are not to recognized or have faces that could be used for customizing. they either make women look to manly or the eyes are screwed up. And why does the rooted haired long hair need to have such a severe v cut

Likeness rights of actors, and especially models require likeness rights. Triad would have to pay royalties or risk being sued. Being a US company and especially based in California (which has stricter likeness rights laws because of Hollywood), they can't take the liberties a company based in Asia can.
