Still waiting, Mr Asmus.......
Tailoring looks great, but with that head sculpt/facial expression it is a regrettable pass; unless I find it cheap/marked down later. Really bummed by this.We have seen a production sample of Bilbo already This is what we are getting:View attachment 576854
Gonna be great for a Jack the Ripper custom at least...Tailoring looks great, but with that head sculpt/facial expression it is a regrettable pass; unless I find it cheap/marked down later. Really bummed by this.
Too scary for even him!!Gonna be great for a Jack the Ripper custom at least...
I’d be down for some JP releases since it looks like Chronicle have let that fizzle out.
Yeah the 1/6 raptor looked great. I was definitely going to buy thatChronicle went bust and did a runner with collectors' money from what I read, but yeah I'd really like someone to pick up the JP line. The 1/6 scale raptor prototype Chronicle showed off looked great
I was in for both the raptor and Grant. Thankfully I was able to get all of my money back. I thank the people on these boards for that. That’s how I got the heads up that there were issues.Yeah the 1/6 raptor looked great. I was definitely going to buy that
Was looking forward to it initially, but have to admit, the more I am seeing of it the lower my expectations are going. For my money, I have zero hope and expectations for this “new” Rings Amazon thing. Hopefully it gets ignored, your mileage may vary
Totally agree! Was looking forward to it initially, but have to admit, the more I am seeing of it the lower my expectations are going.
Pretty much where I am at. I have tried to remain hopeful but I think the nail in the coffin of my hopes was trying to watch their Wheel of Time show. I figured if that show came out well it would be a good sign for Rings but I couldn’t make it past the first few episodes even though I tried. Was looking forward to it initially, but have to admit, the more I am seeing of it the lower my expectations are going.
That's a great way of phrasing it.I met the actor playing one of the guys with the big antlers on his back at a friend's film shoot. He seemed really excited about his role and his part did sound good, but yeah, keeping expectations low. Seems wise in this era of favourite franchises and beloved characters getting screwed over and kicked in the face by content "suppliers" - can't bring myself to call them creators...that involves creativity.
The plate armour (and modern hair styles) really got to me. I was half hoping that it’s some fake trailer to keep expectations low with a peasant surprise but I can’t imagine that ever happening.Lifelong Tolkien fan here: I have absolutely no faith in The Rings of Power based off what we've seen so far. The CGI looks woeful and the costumes look really bad. Of course I'm going to give it a shot and want to be surprised but can't shake that doubt so far.
I too tried to give The Wheel of Time a go to see what Amazon could pull off in the fantasy genre and oh boy, was that a worrying wakeup call...not even my beloved Rosamund Pike could salvage it.
Hopefully Asmus will steer clear and focus on Jackson's LOTR instead...
