Hey guys I'm gonna be putting three figures up on eBay early next week.

I've never sold or posted any Hot Toys before, mainly Neca, should i package the shipping box into another box, or just send the shipping box alone?

Also one of the figures doesn't have the shipping box, I'd have to find the best size box i could and pad it securely inside (& out?) and another hs s partial hole from when i got it, how will this affect the items interest?

And as I'd likely be shipping overseas what are your opinions on insurance and tracking facilities?

Thanks Guys!

(Admins i posted this on the sales section but there isnt much traffic there, can you plase clone that thread)

Shipping box or not, I would still wrap the HT box with bubble wrap and packing peanuts and place it in a separate box to ship it in. Just to be safe.

What are you selling?

Iron Man Mark 2

Watchmen Comeidan (without M79/sling)

Mars Attacks Martin Soldier

From my having a look about several different companies, it seems that tracking/insured parcels cost three times as much as a "proof of delivery" shipment, parcel force is listed as £48.10 ($80) for tracked shipment to USA.

however the Airsure would cost consideribly less but only has a "proof of delivery" once delivered, no live tracking.

Give the buyer the choice of shipping option; that way the decision (and consequences thereof) is theirs and not yours. I usually have a surface no-frills option, the same with tracking and/or insurance, a no-frills air option, and again the same with tracking and insurance. When the buyer goes through the check-out process, they select the shipping option that they prefer.

great idea, thanks!

hey guys, so it seems, that if i pack the shipping box of the Mars Attacks into another box it weighs 1.5 KG, which would cost £20.59 with Royal Mail Airsure.

Airsure has compensation up-to £500 if lost or damaged, it has tracking (as far as i can tell) and would take a minimum of 6 days to USA at a cost of $34.39 to an American buyer.

That sounds pretty decent.

what about you guys... Yes/No?

That won't matter. He's still responsible for getting it to the buyer in pristine condition and if it doesn't and he pulls that, PayPal will still refund the payment and ebay will let the negative feedback "Seller shipped in shipper only and arrived crushed!" stick. That's like buyer's bane.

Nova, it may cost more, but always double box. It's an expense you can pass on to the buyer and it'll save your butt in the long run.
