Rest in peace Chadwick. Cancer is very cruel, he handled a tough situation with grace. Very tragic :(

Reminds me of the time Boseman said he'd rather have an action figure than a Golden Globe when he got snubbed during awards season a few years back. That quote has taken on more meaning now. Sure, it's cool to have yourself immortalized in plastic for playing a heroic character. Any nerd on this board can relate to that.

But when it comes to representation, it means that he was able to inspire far more of the next generation by having a presence on their shelves. The character could continue to be a part of their lives after the curtains closed.

Nice post :rock

Well his long oscar speech makes much more sense now and why all his costars deffered their time To him. I thought it was strange at the time that he didnt let anyone else talk but it was even stranger that his costars didnt even seem to care. It was like they were just there to support and honor his speach. It all makes sense now in hindsight.

Sadly, Its always the good people that die young

38-39 is super young to get diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer

Why didnt they just remove his colon and blader and give him a bag like they do alot of people? Maybe he decided against it cause it would mean the end of his acting career, but life is better then death. Maybe he thought chemo would work, but it didnt and by the time he was willing to remove organs, it had metastasized to other parts of the body. I had a coworker who had colon and blader cancer they removed both of them, he has to use bags but is still alive to this day at age 75

He always used to joke that he could hold his piss longer then me lol. Yes it true, never get into a piss holding competiton with a man that has a bag for a blader

Lol spicy food isn?t the main problem getting colon cancer.

I know i was being silly, but one thing is for sure people didnt eat nearly as much spicy food back in the day, so while it may not be a direct causation im sure there is correlated evidence between spicy food consumption and stomach, or colon cancer. It cannot be good for you digestive track esp if consumed regularly or in larger quantities. It is true the people are getting colon cancer at younger ages so it has to be something to do with what people eat nowadays. Its not drinking booze cause people been drinking it for ages. If its not spicy food what else would it be? Fast food like mcdonalds burger king and taco bell? I dont think chadwick was consuming a **** ton of fast food given his body weight and career path. Most people shy away from fast food these days so it cant be that either

Spicy foods have been around for at least 8,000 years. :lol

Fast food is trash as are soft drinks and sweets.

Oh i agree but there is a difference between traditional spicy food (say like Indian curry dishes and or tai pad kee mao) and the outrageous stuff they do now. Try ordering a Jalapeno burger, it will have more jalapenio’s then meat then is lathered in hot sauce. Places try to one up the competition in spicyness alone not quality. The more spicy offerings the better. Its gotton out of control and alot of people eat that ****. Fast food will always be the major link/problem but take ****** fast food and put tons of jalapenos and hot sauce in it then yes its a recipe for disaster and is probably highly correlated with the increases of colon and stomach cancer at younger ages. I dont eat fast food, but like i said earlier i love spicy food but what i have noticed is even traditional restaurants like tai food, atleast in the in states, have also gotten out of control with spice levels- its a spicy world we live in. Everything is about major flavor and spice. 20 years from now the health department will come out and say too much spicy food is bad for you it is linked to stomach and colon cancer- but they cant say yet cause the rage just started like 10-20 years ago at most so they haven’t been testing the correlation long enough. Need years of data and evidence to establish both causation and correlation with causation being harder to prove

Between this and Jake Lloyd in the hospital for schizophrenia and self injury 2020 continues to punish.

Didn't hear about that.

I doubt she'll be known here but Sarah Harding from the UK pop group Girls Aloud announced she has advanced breast cancer. She's only 38. Wouldn't seem to bode well.

Sorry to hear that man. Hope things turn out good. This year has been rough

Thanks - my bro still laughs but it's true - doctors say CLL is considered a "good cancer" like it may never progress.:google
And there's treatments.

Yeah this year has been brutal in a lot of ways.

U want to know watch a documentary called King Corn. I think its on Amazon Prime. For one thing the movie points out the beef we eat now isn't the beef of the 1970s.

Far as I know spice doesnt do anything except literally burn if hot enough. But u feed an animal %$# food they get sick. Feed humans a cocktail of corn syrup, fats, chemicals that our systems didnt evolve for and we get sick. Plus in the US we sit a lot.

But at least we have lots of drugs to deal with it.:monkey3

Given that globally, colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer, I do hope the screening age is lowered :( I know it's a very invasive procedure, so I also hope that our imaging and detection methods improve. I've read too many stories of young people being diagnosed too late because it's seen as an 'old person' disease. Chadwick's death will bring more attention to early onset colon cancer, hopefully drive some change so we can help others in the future.

They are coming up with different screening methods using stool samples that are getting closer -- right now they're used more as a way to tell you if you need or don't need a colonoscopy. In either case there's still a certain amount of embarrassment involved that deters people from getting screened.

Might be the case in 10-15 years where we can just get a blood test to screen for most cancers all at once. Would be a huge step forward.

Watched 42 tonight. Tough to watch him on screen that's for sure, gifted actor that would have had a long career.
Watched civil war myself today and yeah, I agree with these movies with him in it are a bit hard to watch knowing what he was going through while filming. I haven't seen 42 yet though

What a shocking, tragic loss. He was a true talent. He exuded the same high level of gravitas and charisma as Poitier or a young Denzel Washington. I watched some of Black Panther tonight. Such screen presence and magnetism. I was looking forward to what the future held for this man who already had an impressive resume of films to his credit.

He spoke to the graduates of Howard University in 2018. I know it may by a little off topic for this forum, but if you are a fan, it's worth the read...great article along with the speech transcript here:

Howard University Commencement Speech 2018

The man not only could connect with his art, but with his words too. I hope Marvel realized what an amazing gift it was to have him as their "Black Panther".

Rest among the stars, Mr. Boseman....
