Axe looks like a huge improvement, though I'm not sure if I want to put $50 more into this set. I'm pretty satisfied with Rainman's, even though it's a pretty disappointing effort by his usual standards.

Finally had time to catch up on this thread (awesome pics from everyone BTW) and spend some time with this set. For some reason, out of the box my attention was grabbed by the shortcomings which didn't initially allow me to appreciate all the positives. Danny's anime eyes, the size and likeness of the Gradies, the axe amongst other niggles really jumped out at me first. It took a few days of being on display and spending some time messing around, but then it magically clicked and everything fell into place.

I was iffy about going for the girls from day one, but in the end I can say I'm happy I didn't pass. They aren't exactly what I look for in 1/6 (especially at this price) with scale and likeness being important criteria for me, but they are a great piece of work. They do have a good resemblance, but if they had a strong likeness they would've been insanely creepy and listed amongst the greatest 1/6 items every made. But the dresses are masterful and the sculpt and paintwork is mind-blowing (aside from the harsh red on the part in their hair). I would've really liked them to be scaled more properly but all in all they round out and add tons to the overall display. They are definitely the hot fudge, whip cream AND cherry on top.

Danny and the trike are just plain epic. He took it up 5 notches with the revisions to the sculpt and captured Danny's likeness really well; I just feel he lost him a bit in the eyes (as what happens with tons of 1/6 sculpts). The eyes themselves are sculpted a bit big but I think with smaller irises, it would hit near the bullseye. But aside from that, Danny and the trike are flawless, especially the trike. By the way, I didn't see anyone mention Robbie's super cool engraving on the bottom. Did that go unnoticed?

Jack is a fantastic and bad ass fig. Looks incredible and is fun to pose. As super solid of a piece as he is, I do have to put him dead on the cusp of the 1st & 2nd tier in my book. The likeness is really strong but just a tinge more of the infamous style creeped in than I would've liked. The axe I have to say is a disappointment. It's definitely not the usual level of excellence that we're used to getting from The Man. Mine even came bent but I guess some heat and strapping it to a ruler or something for a few days will straighten it out.

The bases are an awesome addition and the grand package sums up to be an epic unprecedented display

Just some quickies while I'm moving things around to give them the space they deserve

Very nicely put!!!
A very detailed and a candidly true analysis

Great pic CM!!!! :rock

I will update the axe list tonight :)

I'm down for one but let's be sure that Rainman's is truly scaled correctly. It's about 7½" which is almost 4' by scale. I know it's big in the flick but this seems a little over-sized. Not by much, maybe ½"-¾".

Always enjoy reading your thoughts, Mike.
You always take your time and don't rush into spilling your initial feelings.

I'm still waiting on my outfit set to complete my H&C, RM said hopefully within the next week.

While I'm not sure if this is his best release, I can say out of every Rainman piece I've owned, this is definitely my favorite.

mike, my thoughts are pretty much right in line with yours as well. Overall, I love it, but theres some nits in there for sure

It is refreshing to hear a commentary that was truthful and blatantly honest. I bought the Full Set , and a lot of it had to do with it being a Rainman piece. To be honest if any other artist would have offered Jack I would have passed, seeing the work in progress and Robbie's enthusiasm really sold it to me. Obviously flipping this figure would be almost impossible with open ended ordering so that was not also my intention. Upon receiving and opening the figure I noticed the head size, shirt color and the corduroy really stood out along with the plastic looking axe. I was forewarned on some of the " nitpicks" but it still was extremely obvious. The sculpt and Lee's paint was phenomenal , he really captured Jacks quirky evil expression and menacing "Green" eyes. I didn't have that butterfly stomach feeling I had when I got Bill V2 or opened the Doc Holliday, Plainview, and Delarge head sculpt for the first time. The companion pieces seem to be a must on this set without the Twins and Danny I think its a bit flat. The Trike seemed to steal the show and hopefully this year I can see it in hand.

I have only been collecting customs for a few years and am no expert but I do think maybe some more interaction with Lee while things are WIP would help out a lot. I see interest in already new shirts and axes after some of you spent 2200.00 on a figure set, I think that's a bit absurd that you have to replace these brand new pieces. Most of Lee charm seems to be his artistic freedom and his own take on an character so some of these movie inconsistencies we will have to accept as artist interpretation. For the most part I am happy with Jack and look forward to Lee's new projects.

I'm sure he'll grow on you and it'll all click, Anthony. I didn't get the butterfly wow feeling initially either (and I'm really not sure why) but it was definitely latent. Jack is a solid piece and I think he's an excellent stand alone, but Danny and the girls do provide more to the display than whats obvious. Together they take up enough space to camouflage Jack's slightly large scale. He's a little tall and the head and boots are a bit big, but unless he's displayed rubbing elbows with other figs it'll go by unnoticeably. Like if they have a dedicated Detolf space or their own space away far enough away from other figs, it'll blend into the collection

Not only is it a great art figure, but it's hands down the best Jack we've gotten to date. Sure, all of the people even attempting him are small op "C" level companies, and granted some of the attempts are already 5-6 years old, but even the newer attempts don't even come close to this

$250!

The trick is in the arm positioning, swing the holding hands a bit further back and that should bring the twins feet closer to the base.

I figured that out too and seems to be the biggest part in balancing them. Both of their left feet lift a little and either one will ever sit completely flush on the base, but you can find a position where they are pretty evenly stanced and spaced facing forward, and then depressing their joint arms does give them balance

All of your shots are great but I especially love these 2

32 Full Sets?

45 GP
9 DX
32 FS
7 Twins
31 HC

I feel horrible for whoever got #7 of the FS because that would make their #/ES 237 backwards!! Anyone who knows anything knows that Regan and the good caretaker will haunt their house and possess their family and pets. They will come home and find these guys doing it in their bedroom

I don't have time to post more pics now but we should talk about the size of the axe before we're positive that Rainman's size is perfect. The 1:1 prop is definitely big, but for some reason I think Rainman's is a touch long. It just comes across as so but I could be wrong it it could be dead on.

Here's all I have handy but lets get some more pics from different angles up so we get this right:
