Ok, understood......I also gave out my final warning.

Rainmans new project: Overlook Caretaker

This is such a fun hobby! We all chose to spend time here - many a times sacrificing our own personal family time, time with friends and also many a times giving this the highest priority!

We are all here for what artists create and to discuss and have fun!

So much bitterness and so much anger, hatred and jealousy over figures we "buy" mind you - apart from googling none of us are really contributing anything outstanding!

My worry is what does rainman or Robbie or many other artist think when they see all this aggressive and bitter behavior!

It's like having a bar that has the best artisan home brewed, decades aged scotch only to have a heard of barbarians come and drink it!

(Mods: I am am not trying to offend anyone / my message is to people who just feel they can use any language to communicate what they want to)

"The way you treat each other" in life is the most important thing! The most! Everything else is gonna fade away!

What I think needs to be done is that somebody finds a frame in the movie where they can tell the length of the axe in comparison to the size of Jack. Based on his actual size, the on screen axe can be measured and sized appropriately.

There was no one standard size for the prop axes since Kubrick used different prop axe lengths to accommodate his shooting angles. But the impression he wanted the axe to have was big and menacing. Axe always felt like another character to me. Keep it Rainmans size, it looks great.

Love the figure.

Not a huge fan of the film. I like the film, and it's a great watch, but i'm not in the same camp as most in this thread. I got the figure because it was Jack.

For that reason i was never going with Danny and twins, and didn't see the value of the full set, so i went head and clothing. Pleased with that choice, as i prefer Aeon's paint. Not dissing Rainman's, but i just can't take to those white fleks. I know most prefer them, but i'm over the moon with Aeon's.

Green eyes........................ bonus!

Hot Toys TTM21 with TTM22 internal neck post.

What TrueType is the one Hottoys used for the mime joker? I'm thinking that with the padding it came with will sort out the cheap body issue.

I understand that, but I was thinking about when he about to swing the axe at the door, just getting a good idea what length was used. I like the menacing, larger look, but it could use a little off the end.

Updated axe list. Let me know of I missed anyone so I can send the final list to Fergo.

I can send pics of the RM's axe to Fergo and ask him to make just a little smaller, remember that this will be a hand made work and the axe can be a little smaller anyways. The sooner we can let him know about the size the better as we have 40+ people in the list and this may take a while.

That body and padding looks great Eb Jones. That's a real good deal if you bought the head and clothing set .You got an amazing piece of Lee's art and a character or actor you like without breaking the bank. Good to hear nice things about Aeon I have a few heads from her and I am happy with them .

Yeh, i have the Butcher full set V2 (painted by Rainman) next to Jack at the moment, and Aeon's painting can be almost right up there next to his sometimes. Really pleased with this one for sure.

The height issue people might be getting, could be for a couple reasons. Don't know because like i say i only have H&C, but mine is perfect height with everything else i have........................ so height..........................

Those TTM18 ko's tend to have longer ankle pegs and the internal neck post sits higher. They are not identical. Please bear in mind i haven't owned all TTM18 ko's, but i have had a few.

Get the height down: Swap ankles, change neck post, and i reckon you'll all drop 4mm or 5mm. Hope so anyway for anyone having height issues.

I haven't seen in hand personally but Aeons paint app seems bang on, and its not surprising majority of her apps are really good.

^^^ In this specific pic - which ever is stand alone head sculpt looks better! I am not a paint expert but the "hair line on the one in clothing " looks a bit half done (or is it just this pic!) kinda looks like he dyed his hair and they grew a bit since then!

Yeah I took that pic and have both those heads in hand right now.

Aeons hair line is very pronounced, and Rainmans fades into the scalp more. Initially the fade looked odd to me but now Aeons perfect straight line looks odd to me. Jack was straight up Balding. his hair line was not so pronounced.

The eyes and eyelashes on aeons are her usual same look. Lees have more detail and variation of color, but Aeons have a "cleaner" look if you will.
After having both in hand for a week now, and initailly thinking Aeons was superior - I can definitely say Rainman captured more of a Torrance look than Aeon, as Aeons lines are very strict and she made his hair looks very full (and Lees color of hair is definitely preferred).

I think it's the common thing. Most people see Aeons eagle eye and think its superior to Lees original paint, but in hand Lees is definitely superior and akin more to the character, not just painting the sculpt based on lines. The two definitely look different in hand. Aeons is clean, straight, what u would expect from her normal paint up. Lees has personality, and imo brings out more of a Torrance as the features blend much nicer and are not so sharp everywhere.

This is brutally honest opinion coming form someone who compared the two heads right out of box and thought Aeons was superior. I 100% changed my mind over the week. Lees looks more like Torrance, and his head doesn't look as elongated due to style of paint work.

Isn't getting stuck on the inaccurate size because some think it looks cooler going the opposite direction of what we're trying to achieve here? I thought we're trying to get an improved axe, not make the same mistake twice?

Any talk of the props not having a standard size is completely pulled out of a hat (or whatever) and not based on anything factual. As a matter of fact, not only do axes come in very standard sizes (28", 32" and 36"), but a pic of literally 20 of the props was already posted by ishothimsixtimes... and they ALL look mighty standard to me :lol:lol

I just don't get this "bigger looks cooler" stuff. It actually looks odd because axes just aren't that big. Not in real life, and not on screen in The Shining.
