Thanks! I'm really pleased with him. :yess:

Is that the one that was for sale last week on these boards? I totally was interested in that but didn't jump fast enough. Looks real good I think it's a good representation

Thanks, yes it is ;)

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Speaking of the DX set on Doc, I feel the unhatted sculpt was almost a waste as the DX accessory..as who would want to display Doc without his hat?

Doc is a very nice figure. I personally didn't purchase one because it's not a favorite character for me but I've seen it in person and it stands out. If I had to compare it to Rainmans top list I'd say it's about tied with the Dude, with Bill and Anton tied for the top spot.

I thought the hatless sculpt actually saves the figure because one of the more important elements of the hatted sculpt was missed, that being the shape of the hat itself. I feel like Rainman didn't quite capture the style and shape of the actual hat which was so important to the character. I get a sombrero vibe from it.

After looking at refrences again, you're absolutely right, it does look more like a sombrero! Never noticed that

Now that you mentioned the hat Turbo, I cant stop looking at it and agreeing with you. The initial sculpt on page one the hat looked almost identical to the one in the movie photo , but the glossy paint I think makes the hat loose all detail giving it a Frisbee like quality. I love the sweating pale paint app a lot and think its wonderfully done. AFKhunter has an awesome display of his Doc which I remind him I want frequently and barrage his collection thread. I have a sentimental attachment to Doc as I said in the previous post and think he just looks bad ass. My wife recently cut my balls off after my BrBa and Bill V2 bills, I am hoping to somehow squeeze some more money out of a rock to continue collecting customs. FFS they are so expensive and I really would hate to sell off some of my rarer Hot Toys. Maybe Chubbyman will be my sugar daddy? I would sell a kidney but it all full of radiation LOL

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Mine doesn't have the shiny paint on the hat, more of a flat black.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Mine is flat black as well. I think Lakhota is referring to the one that Para has which I think is from the new batch of RM heads that were recently released. Not sure who painted those. Don't think it was Aeon this time around.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

To me doc and Alex are rainmans best. The only figures I have left. Doc is the most realistic, and Alex with rainman's style is just perfect. Easily me two favorites.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

This was the first RM figure I bought and still one of my favorites in the collection. I'd love to get another headsculpt (preferably unhatted) so I could put together a second figure with the the red waistcoat and gambler look.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Does any one out there display him with just the undershirt and suspenders like Machew's sig?

I haven't displayed mine yet like that but it would be a nice look. I saw someone a while back not sure if it was on the freaks or a google search. They did a kitbash of the OK corral outfit with the black overcoat and shotgun and it looked really great! Don't think the clothes under the overcoat were RMs. The sculpt was. But nevertheless it turned out great! I always keep mine displayed with the duster coat and cig in hand, I find it really stands out with that look:)

Okay enough bragging , someone offer me one! I will give you a reach around !

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

All this movement in this thread, I had to drag this pic back in. My most favorite picture I have taken of a figure and the only Rainman figure I have ever sold. Have regretted it ever since.

Alex, huh? Interesting. He's rarely called one of the best but I'm totally with you on him being a favorite. It's probably my fave of his catalogue mostly based on the source material. I don't think the likeness is as bad as others tend to either. Not perfect but definitely there and definitely better than any other option. The accessories are on the subtle side but amazing in heir own right. The mask is incredible, the cane with real metal sword is awesome and of course the synthemesc is a must. Anyone who has the DX in hand knows the dancing Jesus statue is a piece of art!

Not to mention that Gangboy Dx was my very first 1/6 piece!

I guess it's hard to not want to show off that duster! It does look damn good. But the shirt hidden under all that stuff has great details too. All someone would have to add is a decent gun rig and you have the look from your sig dead on
