Of all of the movies that you saw this summer (starting with May 3rd's IM3's release) how would you rank them?
1Man of Steel (3D... saw it twice in the theatre-- loved it-- reminded me of the joy I had with Reeve's Superman mixed with some modern dark pathos the character always needed... I had the poster of the trio from Supes II on my bedroom wall for the longest time)
2Star Trek Into Darkness (3D... great continuation of the universe that Abrahms has started)
3Pacific Rim (3D...del Toro can do no wrong... also a great art book-- I can't wait for a sequel)
4The Wolverine (3D... there's THE Wolverine we all know, from the comics, and love)
5World War Z (3D... nice re-invention/imagining of the genre... nothing like the book but a fun ride)
6This Is The End (This was actually a date movie when the missus and I had a day away from the kids-- romantic, uh? Who did this?
Did what? What are you talking about?
BLANKED all over the pages of this nice magazine, I was nice enough to tell you about.
It was me. Franc. I BLANKING made BLANK in your magazine.
WHAT!?!... I had tears in my eyes.
(DISCLAIMER: the following films were not seen in the theatre and that might have hurt how I viewed them-- but beside IM3 I don't think there are any here that I'll give a second chance on blu-ray)
7Iron Man 3 (takes on the big bad terrorist and his goons in Macgyver mode due to his armour being out of commission BUT all along he could have released 40+ sets of armour... !?!... just one of the plot points that made me scratch my head while watching Tony Stark 1... I'm hopeful that on blu-ray I'll maybe appreciate it more)
8Fast and Furious 6 (The Rock and Gina Carano... it is what it is)
9White House Down (I wish Tatum had taken the same earky exit that he had in GI JOE: RETALIATION)
10The Hangover Part III (so disappointing)
11*Lone Ranger (Jake Sparrow 4.5 and a Lone Ranger that was nothing compared to how he's supposed to be portrayed... maybe I'll try this again on blu-ray... *I haven't even gotten all the way through it-- maybe I need to be in the right mood... Sparrow drunk)
Releases in August that I'll probably try to see:
Kick-*** 2 and (FO SURE) The World's End
Here's a list if your memory is kaput.
