I LOVE Pixar, Brad Bird is a Genius and Ratatouille is a Masterpiece of a movie.

In a summer of blockbuster movies (Transformers, Spider-Man 3, Pirates 3, FF2, Die Hard 4) it's easy to see how this could be overlooked, but I am a huge Pixar fan and I was anticipating this one just as much as any of those other films. I can easily say that it has tied Transformers for my favorite of the year (YES, that good). Brad Bird and Co. are masterful storytellers, their visuals are absolutley gorgeous and their attention to detail is unsurpassed, they have truly mastered their craft.

Ratatouille is a funny, charming, touching story about a rat (Remy) with a heightened sense of smell, who goes from poison sniffer to master chef. Remy is separated from his colony and winds up in Paris, where he is befriended by Linguini (a garbage boy at a restaurant) and they team up to become the best chef(s) in Paris. I won't give away too much more so I will just say that the Villain (Ian Holm) is great and all supporting characters are really enjoyable. If you liked Toy Story, Monsters Inc., The Incredibles, or pretty much anything else Pixar has done I guarantee you will LOVE this one too!

I cant wait to go see this in cinemas. Brad Bird is the best man in animation atm. He's created some of the best animated films I've ever seen (The Iron Giant :love) plus his contributions to Pixar.
Needless to say that I cant wait to see Ratatouille. Glad to hear its another winner:D :D

I saw this one and wrote a review about it, unfortunately it's in dutch.

I can honestly say, it's the best pixar yet.

:D Now thats awesome news. The Incredibles is my favourite Pixar film of them all, but Ratatouille has yet to be seen.

I agree, it really is perfect in every way, can't wait to see Wall-E next year and Toy Story 3 after that! Good move getting these guys back Disney!! :rock

Yep, Ratatouille was awesome! Really enjoyed it thoroughly! It's great with a film like this, because initially I felt the idea was weird. But to be proved wrong is fantastic! :D There were some real belly laughs in this that made me tear up a bit! the animation was gorgeous too...WOW

I much prefer it over Transformers, but I'm one of the weirdies who puts Pirates 3 at the top of the list. I know, I know "HOW?!". I loved that movie. wasn't disappointed in the least bit

Gosh, I hadn't realized it, but maybe Disney has brainwashed me

Yea, I really dug the movie. I liked it much more than the Incredibles (which I didn't think was that great). The best part for me was when the rats tied up the inspector guy. :lol :lol

Just saw it yesterday. I liked it a lot (Nemo is still my favorite), but the animation was beyond belief. That bit at the end with Anton Ego's restaurant review (as voiced by the exemplary Peter O'Toole) had me tearing up. WHY O WHY wasn't he Dumbledore after Harris !!!!!????!!!:monkey2 !

I'll have to see it again to decide whether I prefer it over The Incredibles (my favorite Pixar), but it is a superb movie. While there are now many other contenders to the 3D animated throne, Pixar just blows them all away.

This is easily the best film of the summer so far, hands down.

And I have to agree about Peter O'Toole - his best performance in many years and a great character. He would have made a fantastic Dumbledore, but I'd bet that Warner Bros. would be afraid of having to replace him again before movie 7.

I thought it was beautiful how Ego (the toughest critic in the world) was taken back to his childhood memory of his mother serving him his favorite dish and it humbled him. :monkey2

I can't wait to own this on DVD or Blu-Ray!

Ratatouille was one of the best films I've seen this year thus far. The story was quite charming, the characters were so well done and the animation was so fantastic at times (the attention to the smallest of details were almost draw dropping at times...at least for me). I have fallen in love with this film.

I really enjoyed this movie too... I don't know about it being the best Pixar film, but its one of the better ones. But what continues to blow me away about their films is how the animation continues to get more and more amazing each film.

Oh, and I much preferred it over Transformers!

I'll probably go see it as this is the kind of stuff I want to do for a living. Make animation my career.

Anyway glad everyone enjoyed it. I want to watch it! I'll probably go see it next weekend.

I agree, it is one of the summer's best; as for my favorite Pixar films, Toy Story and The Incredibles sat at the top and this has now joined them.

The animation is gorgeous, the fur on the rats looked so realistic and when they were standing in the rain the fur actually looked wet. The backgrounds and scenery (the Countryside, Paris) were also beautiful to look at. No other animation studio can touch Pixar.

It's a MUST SEE in a theater Eli, It will look beautiful on Blu-Ray too when the time comes.

If you get a chance to see it on a digital projection system, jump at it. It looked absolutely amazing!

Easily one of the best movies of the year, and it is really a toss-up between this and The Incredibles as my favorite Pixar film.

Yes, I have to admit I wasn't expecting much out of this movie. But, after coming out of it, I would have to agree that it is the best movie out there for summer. Now, I haven't seen Transformers, so I can't say which one's better. And I doubt that Harry Potter will easily unseat this one either from my number one spot. It is THAT good.
