@ Army: My point is two sculpts were always necessary. The two that I'd be voting on would have been "cold stare" and "post axe frenzy"

Hey man don't worry. I wasn't upset or anything. It was a general statement towards everyone here debating. I refer to it as a debate, not a fight. We all here want an awesome Bateman figure so that's all that matters in the end and having 2 head sculpts only increases the odds that MOST people here will be pleased. I will never say "everyone" because we all know that there will always be someone who still will not be happy so I can't make such a statement.

While you guys keep feeling disappointed, I spend my time fiddling with the fonts and design of the first post... This is my second headed work with them (actually third if you consider Secret Project where Dane is on there with me) after The Demon's Head... and if what The Demon's Head turns out is any indication... I KNOW this figure will be amazing too... (I do admit I was one of those a little disappointed when told the sculpt expression was the one currently being worked on - but its really grown on me as I see it)

Sound too optimistic? Ive been waiting for a Bateman 1/6 for years now, since I started collecting figures... my first post on any wishlist was Bateman, I have lobbied so much for Bateman the very fact that FINALLY someone is doing it is reason enough for optimism to me...

Again I say... relax guys... there is a long way off for this to take shape... lets see its progress... If we shut ourselves out way before, we might regret later. Keep an open mind... lets all just be patient.

Damn Pop be happy two sculpts are being made. There is enough interest in the screaming HS.

Agreed I for one am more excited after seeing this sculpt and I look forward to seeing the progress and second sculpt.

Hey Mike... Nice to know you on a first name basis. I know my screen name here is very misleading so the assumption of my first name being Joe or Joey is very understandable. If you ever watch my youtube videos, I explain in one of them why I use that name.

I just saw the movie. It was very interesting and the ending really got to me. Bale's performance was magnificent. I was hoping for the open mouth smile face so I will still be praying that is the second expression that is released later on. I really want to recreate a scene with him holding a CD while wearing the raincoat and promoting the song. To me that's the character and the iconic nature of him.

As for the screaming sculpt I can understand why some would be put off. Yes it still comes from source material (movie promotions), but to me it really doesn't represent the character. The iconic expressions someone makes throughout a film would be what you associate to them and for this character I mostly associate the strange smirks or smiles he had throughout. He was happy at the strangest times, very serious at the others.

With that being said the screaming face to me is very useful. A lot of people point out it limits poses, but I hate this argument because to me it justifies the Hot Toys blank stare syndrome. If anything this sculpt promotes displays because it makes him stand out even if all he is doing is standing erect. I can imagine putting him on the top shelf of a display case holding the axe high above his head while having that screaming face. It's chilling. It would capture anyone's eyes. On the flip side, just some generic cold stare or even the smirk would make people just think "oh hey that's a good looking Bale figure."

We aren't spending one hundred bucks. This is a $300 project and for that money you really want something that stands out in my opinion. Otherwise might as well mod the hair and use a Bruce sculpt on a suit?

But really the raincoat is the deal breaker for me. Its absence would remove all my interest. Something about it is just so iconic. You cannot top that scene. It's the movie as far as I am concerned.

EDIT: I find it funny that some of the more hardcore fans of the film are defending the screaming sculpt. I honestly believe if you're a big guy on the film then you probably should be the one offending it and not defending it. We've got people here saying how "Oh Bateman has this unique expression to him as opposed to Bruce" and such but then they turn around and praise an expression the character never actually made and one I really don't see as all too fitting for him either. Just because it's on a poster doesn't make it a worthy fit. Think of all the book covers that really don't do the text justice. The cover of "Brave New World" has some guy in a bunch of cog wheels or something.

i dont think Mike, and certainly not me, have been trying to be overly critical; i think our point has really been one of passionate interest regarding this sculpt: THAT WE TRULY HOPE DENNY DECIDES TO GO WITH A SECOND SCULPT, as from my understanding, at this point, he is merely considering the possibility.
we are both iminime fans and have certainly been expressing out interest and enthusiasm for their releases lately and in the spirit of fan collaboration which Iminime has so kindly welcomed, we are looking to participate in a small way in order to be as thrilled as possible with this Bateman release.

of the WIP, i think it looks good, at such an early stage and am anxious to see how it comes out.
and more than anything i hope the fervor shown on the thread today gives Denny reason to go through with a second sculpt.

with that being said, i will shut my fat mouth and wait to see.

Oh and I wish the defenders here would relax. I swear some of you guys intend to axe down the people complaining. No one is trying to call the sculpt garbage or anything. Everyone here is a fan (there's pretty much no "LOL I pass dont care about this guy" posts) and they are all expressing interest in a figure. No one is questioning the skills of the team. Nothing like that. This is all positive feedback. I even see some people resorting to the typical "everyone on this forum complains" song and dance. Let people be skeptical. I really hate the crackdown mentality some people have especially the ones that consider themselves to be part of some ingroup, closer to the people making these customs. It can get pretty bad in Rainman threads.

And to whoever complained about the price. This will be a steal compared to the $800-$1000 Rainman charges or the $500 for a suit from Kato. While I think both cases are extremely overpriced, this figure will likely hover a little more than a Hot Toys DX figure, something widely produced. Thanks to Hot Toys rising prices, customs seem a lot more affordable these days. Guess there's a plus to everything.

Dude.....I think you are throwing more fuel on the fire then anyone else was. I read both your posts....and I am thoroughly confused on what you are trying to say.
