I feel sorry for the poor guy who got his face eaten. That has to be the most painful thing ever.

Guy was probally on PCP and the other man probally on something as well.

Really horrible situation this is, hope the stupid zombie trend was not part of the motivation behind this attack.

He was naked and had no weapons. Why did they shoot him?
Why not try tazing him first? ...or even pushing him to the ground and putting hand cuffs on him?

No, no, not defending the guy. I'm glad he's dead.

Just saying, if they're going to be police officers, they should atleast be able to subdue a skinny naked unarmed retard without automatically going for the gun.

..oh and I hope he doesn't turn out to be a zombie. I had a whole plan prepared for a zombie apocalypse for when I get out of college..

Yeah, because he was thinking with that rational or any for that fact. LOL

If he was on something, the last thing that wasn't going through his mind is anything resembling that of a human being, which is being capable of thought.

A week prior to this attack, he could have been thinking anything..

"____ my life sucks..dropped out of Uni, no future i'm going to go out zombie style cause it will get global coverage and zombies are in this season again but, yea..i've never ate raw flesh before..doub't i could..unless i was on something..hmm"

XD

My thought would be if you step out of your car with gun pulled then notice that hes grievously injuring someone whos down the officer didn't want to take the time to pull his taser or cross the distance. Plus, as the article stated already, he put a round into the guy and the guy didn't stop eating the other mans face. If someone doesn't respond to getting shot...

That makes no sense you dweeblet! Go back to crying over Frodo leaving you ham! :nana:

This sounds more like that poorly written episode of CSI where the kids took drugs and ate their friend who gave them E. coli for their efforts.

Eh, he pulled up like 4-7 feet from the two guys. I don't see why he couldn't taze him. I mean, in most situations, isn't the goal to make sure everyone lives..especially the victim?

I doubt the police officer had any idea that the guy would be resistant to six gunshots. It seems like common sense to reach for the other pocket and taize him, and arrest him..while saving the other guy as well.

Plus, it's not like some guy was beating another with a baseball bat. You can't really see, but I'm guessing the victim was already on the ground and pretty out of it while the other guy was gnawing on his face..

Personally, I would have liked to kill the guy. I don't see the point in keeping someone like that alive on this planet.
But as a police officer, my main goal would be to make sure no one dies..and I would probably first try taizing him, and if that didn't work (which by the outcome, I don't think it would have), I would have tried to wrestle him off the guy and held him on the ground until backup arrived.

What about two people fist fighting? There would definitely be a lot of blood, and it would be very gruesome...but would you shoot them both?
Like, what if some random guy tries to rob you at night on the street, and someone walks by and sees you fighting him..they call the cops saying "there are two people fighting", cop comes down there with his gun pulled and sees two people "grievously injuring" eachother, and decides to shoot them both.

Idunno, I wasn't there. Maybe somthing else happened. That's just how I see it, though.

A clothed fist fight is a very common occurance though compared to two naked dudes laying on the side of the highway with one cuddled up to the other eating the other dudes eyeballs and nose, plus the cop gave his warning and probally aimed for a non-vital region of the body and well, you know the rest of the story.

YEAA!!! I saw someone post this story on FB and my first thought reading it was that this was no man, this was something else. Like the start of the zombies from 28 days later, just raging on the guys face!

Seriously, comparing a fistfight to a naked man chewing on another naked mans face? :cuckoo:

Good post valfar.

Totally agree, it's a very bizarre incident, but I don't think that is reason alone to just shoot the guy (as a police officer).

And hopefully he did first try shooting him in a leg/arm, but I still don't understand why he didn't taize him first. That way, he could have saved the victim and arrested the man.
Of course in this specific situation the face-eater happened to be unnaturally resilient..but the police officer most likely wasn't aware of that.

Yes, chewing a naked man's face is bizarre and doesn't happen everyday.

A fist fight between a mugger and someone who doesn't want to be mugged seems much more..dangerous/deadly though. Taking several heavy, adrenaline-filled blows to the head, or any other part of the body. In that situation, skin wouldn't just be ripped..but bone broken as well.

Either way, I just think he could have saved the victim without killing the zombie. Although I think the zombie should have died a very brutal and painful death for being one of many disgraceful humans.

I've just always thought that a police officer's main goal was to keep everyone alive, especially the victim. And I think he could have done much more in this specific situation rather than just shooting the zombie.

It's easy to now-r-later how police choose to act when these armchair officers are judging things from the safety of their cubicals. :lol
I'm not in a cubical.
