Recommendations for Predator statue choice!

Hey Predator Collectors,

I want to get ONE statue to represent this amazing character in my collection, and I wanted to ask you guys/gals who collect them. I do not really want to pay a ton for a past piece, and I could settle for a currently available piece if it comes with high praise.

I can not really say which movie/version of predator I enjoy the most, I do prefer him without his mask though if possible.

I guess I should have put what I possible am willing to look at for price range: $300-$500.

You're going to pay a ton!!! Once you accept that then you can proceed to step #2.... Decide which predator you want....

Depends on a lot of things , price, scale and if you are fussed about the quality of the movie in relation to the statue.

In my opinion if I had to just list them in no particular order without taking in A) The Predator version or B) The quality of the movie , I would go -

Wolf Predator - I have this, it's a perfect scale and a dynamic pose it suits the character
Cinemaquette - I don't have this but love it also, the only reason Wolf wins out is because of the pose and display options.
Side show Maq - Great statue but not overly fond of the pose

The chances of you getting any of those are pretty much slim to none. You might be able to pick up Wolf if you were lucky.

After that I think your best bet is to probably wait until the P2 Maq is out, it has some issues but it has potential to be an awesome statue.

After that I think the 1/5 scale sideshow line sucks - period - The Elder might be something you could look at.

I would look into a Narin studios Predator cast (these need to be painted) as they come in various sizes and don't cost a lot (in relation). The answer for me I think would be to wait to see what either the P2 maq looks like or the P2 Narin (which may come out this year too).

Either that or the Badblood Predator is affordable but in a smaller scale than usual. I've heard good things about that one (probably because it's Narin).

I would assume by Wolf Predator you are talking about the Sideshow piece? There is a few on Ebay for about $400, is this a good price for that specific statue?

Blah, if I would have just looked at the site, the Regular edition is still for sale on the site! I can see why you have it as the first choice.

ahhhhh....no. lol.

The Legendary scale statue. It would more likely be $4000 on Ebay.

If you like the Wolf 1/5 then by all means go for it. You don't have much choice from the bigger statues anyway.

LOL, poor guy asks for recommendations in his budget and you give him ones that cost 5-10x as much. The 1/5 line is hard to beat for the money, the Elder and Wolf are the 2 best, but I like the Scar also. I have a Wolf Exclusive for sale for about the same as a SS regular version retail. Unless you want to spend the huge money on one of the top statues Wolf or the Elder are your best bet.

If you don’t want to pay a small fortune but want a good representation of the character I would go for the P1 Legendary scale bust. It isn’t a full bodied statue but there is no mistaking what it is. Not sure if people would agree but I personally think it’s a far nicer looking piece than the 1/5 P1 statue.

I was not sure he wanted a bust, but that is a good option as well. I would also say the classic predator Hot Toys figure, it can be upgraded to P1 specs and is very high quality. It is one of my 1/6 hold outs where most everything else I have is 1/4 or larger.

Yes, I think it is something like 5 min or so, but it was well past 20 at least so who knows.

Dunno if you're after a statue but if i could recommend one piece to represent the Predator it would be the LSB.
1:5 line is great value but you would have to pick your favourite.
Recently received the Bad Blood, damaged, wasn't impressed and it doesn't represent any movie.
Both Dios are very nice and small enough to display easily. Complement each other very well.

Thanks A TON for the recommendations ALL! The only other thing I am thinking about doing is waiting a bit, and see what is shown at SDCC or maybe a little later. I know some reveals about a new Bust, or potential statue has been shown in all the videos/info that we have been seeing. It is a tough decision, cause I like some of the statues that are out now, but they do not sell me 100%.

I was in the same situation as you couple months ago and ended up getting the Sideshow Predator 1987 diorama. I really love it and the only downside is the scale is smaller if that matters to you. However for $500 you can easily pick up the diorama and a HT predator, and probably the Neca 18'' too.
