I have noticed there are alot of painters/repainters here among the board. Who do you guys recommend for sculpt repaints?? Who is the elite of the elite?

Welcome...

There are many great artists here to choose from, however rather than single them out (who's best) you should view the customs section and decide.

I have hired quite a few myself. Here is a gallery of some of the work I've had done by resident artists (artists are given credit in description).

Good luck and be patient with them:

Id recommend Xenoviper

His works great, his communications great and his turn around from paying to recieving painted works is excellent, and he lives continents away from me (Im UK he is Australia)

Ive commisioned work with artists in the USA and here in the UK and the works fantastic but some of the communications not good and Im still waiting for any works from the UK painter and received half from the US painter

So for my money Id go with Xenoviper

I intend to commision small studios in the near future also Ill let you know how that goes :)

I would certainly highly recommend Small_Studios (Josh), hes a great guy and an uber talented artist!!!

Just check his thread his work speaks for itself really, but what a nice guy and a pleasure to deal with!!!

I agree although there are plenty of highly talented artists here with work from each I would love to have. I would have to say small_studios as that is who I go with each time.

My go to guy here is Kuato. Hes a really cool guy and I have several of his painted heads in my collection and there all awsome. my 500 th post :D

What sculpts are you wanting painted? I would look for artists that have worked on those particular heads.

or not, if theyve done 50 of em they have a tendancy to fall to the back of the que, dependant on the painter obviously, but Ive seen more painters get excited over something theyve not done before

but as evilface said if thyve done 50 of em youd think theyd be getting it right by now :)

just a suggestion, but don't always go by posted images. Sometimes lighting makes pieces look better/worse than they are. Ask for more images of other pieces, when someone asks me to paint a piece I always ask how the client wants it to look, with as much specifics as possible ie make up, scars beauty marks etc. I generally send a mix of images to a prospective client so they can judge for themselves.

Also, contact others that have pieces from the painter(s) in question, it's fine.

I hate to say it but Mooncat has a point, who wants to see the same piece over & over again. You begin to feel like a machine punching out the same thing. That's not what this hobby is about. I've been fortunate to have a wide range of pieces for clients so I haven't felt the burn out factor yet. Thant's one of the reasons I was all over the Jigsaw piece. A challenge. Which I hope to do justice to

Here's what I mean about lighting. I through the shot of Ray in cuz I'm really pleased with the results.

Anyway. 1 Jigsaw has a cleaner light while one takes on a yellowy tone. Consider this when contracting a painter.
