I accepted the mission from his mother over at Armadillo, and went to find him around the rocks. But I didn't find anything yet.

This game is sweet. Did a few missions, the random encounters are just as fun though. I saved a dude from some wolves, found a dude who'd just stabbed a hooker and shot him right in the head (vigilante justice ftw, I didn't lose honor for it even though I did it in the middle of town), and killed a group of 5-6 gang members riding through the ranch (shot 4 of them off their horses in deadeye mode, then shot the last one and he rolled around on the ground a bit before expiring).

I totally need to find the "Blondie" style poncho.

I've only played like two missions in the 2-3 hours I've played. Like you, I'm having a blast with the random encounters and hunting the animals to level up. My most memorable moment so far was when a gang was coming out of Armadillo pulling a man behind them. I was riding pretty fast on my horse but was able to go into deadeye mode and take them all out before they were able to get a shot off. Three of them fell of their horses while the fourth guy got his leg caught on the horse and he drug him off. It was great! I'm trying to get rid of the wife and kids so I can can play!

Nice work! I tried saving a lady running from three wolves along the riding trail, but I shot the one on her back too late. It had killed her, but I took the wolf down, and skinned him too. I found out you can skin dead horses, and get horse meat and sell it in towns at the general store like you can with other wild game.

I like those random events out in the frontier too. I've taken on gangs going after treasure hunters more than once. I loot all of the bodies and usually get money from each body I loot. I'm playing the good guy, so I'm being careful about who I kill, and try to help as many people as I can.

if someone ever steals your horse, if you whistle the horse will come back. I did this and my horse threw the thief off and I got 50 fame points.

well l had hi hopes for this game but dont really care for it.im about 6 hours in and none of the missions have been all that great like you said the main character isnt very exciting and neither are any og the other characters so far,and l dont like that the camera isnt over the shoulder when firing your gun like in grand theft auto 4,the graphics are good but so far killing people in the game and the game in general isnt really exiting and satisfying like l thought it would be.this game is no grand theft auto 4 left just put it that way.id personally give it a 6.5/10 so far.
