I don't believe he is, but I ordered a Red Sonja regular just for the purpose of getting it repainted by him. Can't wait to see what it looks like in hand.

I'd congratulate you even this early, man! Looking forward to seeing photos once it's done!

very tempted to do the same, she looks amazing. How much does he charge?

His Sonja repaint looks alive! I saw an inquiry on his Facebook page and he said $450. Maybe marker2037 can tell us if it's accurate. He's good at his craft and he can charge whatever he thinks his work calls for, too bad I can't afford it given that I would also have to pay for shipping.

I think I'd get some paints and follow Torres' approach. I love that he does this with brushes, always thought I had to invest on an airbrush kit and compressor to do repaints. The skin tone would be most difficult, so I'd practice on a cheap figure first :)

Don't really like the repaint although it does look more human/realistic.
$450 plus shipping to and from is a big hit but obviously worth it to those prepared to pay :D

I'm afraid my pics won't do it justice once I get it, but I will certainly try :lol

Damn, did you check out his Facebook? It almost looks alive. I think he needs some work on her eyes though.

I don't know if the sculpting was there already was you can see ol' Red's nips partially through the chain top and kinda under it. Adds a bit a realism that I can't say I don't enjoy.

Im gonna buy one now just so I can repaint it lol. He convinced me that there is a good sculpt under there. I just got to find one cheap now.....

Just picked up an EX foe $379 plus shipping very stoked.. I will also do a repaint in oils... I'll post pics when I'm done..:)

EX for retail? Wow. Congrats.
Doing it yourself?

Yes.. I've painted silicon and resin before with oils.. this shouldn't be too bad just a lot of detail.. should look great I hope.. already gathering photo reference for red heads and looking at skin texture....:)

I saw his Youtube vids first then followed his Fb link. Save all the photos of Red Sonja for repaint reference :) The eye's a bit tricky to repaint though -- the sculpt of the eyes are uneven. I noticed that when I worked on mine and Torres also mentioned that on Facebook :)

No sculpts of the nips, but he did add that with paint. I find it nice, but I think the repaint can look just as good without it :)

It is a GREAT sculpt. Most of the people who repainted this statue said the same thing. If only the mass-production paint can give justive to the sculpts...

Wow! Congrats for the great deal, and looking forward to your paintwork, sir! Could you, if you don't mind, share some specific brands/colors of oil paint we can use, for those who wish to try DIY repaints with their statues? I'm more interested in knowing which paints to use for the skin tone. TIA!

Sure I'll make a list and the order you should apply them.. I use a very fine splatter method and the tiny dots of the colors blend together very nicely to create an awesome skin tone.... I would use an artist grade oil and up.. not a student grade.. you also want to be able to thin the paints to almost a water like consistency.. When you test the paint on a napkin, it should stain with the color.. it should not be opaque at all.. this way as you build up your splatter the colors blend and look very natural.. finally you should gather a lot of photo ref on line.. you can then see how the skin is translucent and it's much easier to simulate...finally you should seal the the statue with a UV_Krylon matte spray for oils... the oils should dry quickly because they will be so thin.... no need to prime this statue since you want the current colors as a base coat....:)

Wow! Reading this alone made me learn new stuff! Thanks buddy! Looking forward to learning from you more! :D

No problem.. this is a method I learned form a few FX friends of mine and it's very useful,, I've painted a few resin and silicon heads this way... it has a little learning curve but if you have painted statues and kits you should not find this hard at all.. if not practice on an old statue you don't mind having not come out the way you want...:) I'll post the paint list in the next few days, I have to pull it out.. I think it's about 8 colors total, and you start with white splatter ... Once all the tone is done, you go in with dry brushing on all the armor and details.. lastly you buy some super fine brushes for eyes, eyelashes and the like.. also find some good color reference from Red Sonja comics as well.. When your done you should have an amazing one of kind PF EX or reg that you can be proud of...:) By the way your comic art ROCKS! As does Richards (Buttornado) fantasy paintings.. there seems to be many of us on here..:) Nice to chat with you guys!
