Have you seen this, guys? This is such an awesome repaint. Love the skin tone and the freckles! Is Vicente Torres a member here?
I don't believe he is, but I ordered a Red Sonja regular just for the purpose of getting it repainted by him. Can't wait to see what it looks like in hand.
very tempted to do the same, she looks amazing. How much does he charge?
I'd congratulate you even this early, man! Looking forward to seeing photos once it's done!
His Sonja repaint looks alive! I saw an inquiry on his Facebook page and he said $450. Maybe marker2037 can tell us if it's accurate. He's good at his craft and he can charge whatever he thinks his work calls for, too bad I can't afford it given that I would also have to pay for shipping.
I think I'd get some paints and follow Torres' approach. I love that he does this with brushes, always thought I had to invest on an airbrush kit and compressor to do repaints. The skin tone would be most difficult, so I'd practice on a cheap figure first
Just picked up an EX foe $379 plus shipping very stoked.. I will also do a repaint in oils... I'll post pics when I'm done..
EX for retail? Wow. Congrats.
Doing it yourself?
Damn, did you check out his Facebook? It almost looks alive. I think he needs some work on her eyes though.
I don't know if the sculpting was there already was you can see ol' Red's nips partially through the chain top and kinda under it. Adds a bit a realism that I can't say I don't enjoy.
Im gonna buy one now just so I can repaint it lol. He convinced me that there is a good sculpt under there. I just got to find one cheap now.....

Sure I'll make a list and the order you should apply them.. I use a very fine splatter method and the tiny dots of the colors blend together very nicely to create an awesome skin tone.... I would use an artist grade oil and up.. not a student grade.. you also want to be able to thin the paints to almost a water like consistency.. When you test the paint on a napkin, it should stain with the color.. it should not be opaque at all.. this way as you build up your splatter the colors blend and look very natural.. finally you should gather a lot of photo ref on line.. you can then see how the skin is translucent and it's much easier to simulate...finally you should seal the the statue with a UV_Krylon matte spray for oils... the oils should dry quickly because they will be so thin.... no need to prime this statue since you want the current colors as a base coat....
