out of interest what is it that you think is crazy ?.
I think alot of people are put off by figures like this , with no guns and awesome flashy parts but for me thats not what its about.
If I love a movie and can watch it countless times and I can then capture that on my shelf and in my home then its a winner for me. Ecspecially if it can be an awesome figure to look at too.
This one really would work alot better with Red though so I just hope that figure shows up and its as awesome as we all hope.

well said. so true about people being put off by no guns and flashy parts. a number of people have come in this thread and i felt they were being slightly condescending that we'd want this figure. when we're all collecting expensive man dolls anyway, i don't see how collecting one type of figure is any less crazy than anything else.

What about the body don't you like? Just curious cuz the arms on mine move in a funny way and almost make a small squeaking noise. Other than that the body (imo) functions exactly like a Hot Toys True Type.

boondock_saint80 is being rather hypocritical if you ask me. He puts down the thought of us owning a figure from an amazing film, yet he posts on a forum that is all about the rare and obscure figure choices. eighthsamurai was correct in what he said, it makes no sense to be condescending towards us.

I'm not sure if ABC actually have it in stock though.
I trust them though and just can't wait to get this. I made a thread for these figures a while back and I know Voorhees always wanted them both too. Well , were half way there.

Okay, got my figure! LOVE IT! Amazing figure, but I am a bit disappointed by the desk. You have to pick it up from the bottom or else it will fall apart. That, and I had this silly impression it was made of wood and metal parts like DiD and Enterbay does with their dioramas.

Either way, I love it! And even the record spins!

Yeah the desk doesn't stay intact but i'm sure with a little crazy glue you'll be set. Its a little flimsy but for the price its an awesome addition imo.

The figure is very sturdy, and I love how easy the desk comes together and the pieces match up nicely. And the way it is packaged would make for an easy disassemble and repackage if you need to move or sell the piece. It's actually quite smart, even if that wasn't the intention or thought put behind it.

But for those wondering what's a better buy? I have to be honest, for space saving purposes, and the fact that the desk isn't constructed as nicely as the figure itself, I say go with the figure. Alone it sells for 80 bucks, which is 50 dollars cheaper than the deluxe version that comes with the desk. The desk is not worth 50 bucks. It's a great figure by itself, but if you're a nutso ShawShank Redemption fan such as myself and Roy, it maybe worth it to pick up the desk, because seriously, even if you're not a fan of that scene or movie in particular, you have to love the fact we get a very nice realistic looking 1/6 scale desk set.

Andy Figure - 8 out of 10
Desk and chair - 6.5 out of 10

Final tallie: 7.5 The figure is that darn good it brings up the set to 7.5, and because I love the movie so much, and this is the only figure we got, I give it a 9 out of 10!

It's awesome to finally have a figure from one of my favorite movies that I thought I'd have to bash to ever have, and this is better than any bash could be. It's great to have a new company thinking of characters outside of the 1:6 norm! Now bring on Red!

Congrats on getting this figure , it is pretty cool. It's funny you should mention Red , when I seen this thread had been bumped back up I thought someone was going to be saying that Red was being made.
I hope they do him , Andy is great but without Red he just looks incomplete to me. It's been a while now , I can't see it happening but fingers crossed I suppose !.
