Redressing Your Figures?

I did redress Luke and Anakin. Luke was the most needed to me as his hips just didn't look right in his tight jumpsuit. A little rolled up TP worked great there. Anakin didn't need it as much but I did it anyway. Kit looks great out of the box so no futzing there.

how do you get creases out of the pleather part on anakin?

You could try putting the wrinkled part under a heavy book. Or wet it down and see how it goes.

Those are good ideas. You may want to use a spray bottle filled with distilled water. Why distilled water you ask? Because it shouldn't have all that crap that tap water can have in it and ruin your 1/6 scale clothes.

Just a thought. I still need to get a spray bottle... I think it would be useful. Just remember what CustomMikey says, "DONT GET POLYSTONE WET!"

I don't really totally redress my figures, just futz around which usually means taking the Jedi down to the bottom layer and messing around with how it looks then redressing from there. I don't bother with the pants.

Now this may sound dumb but why don't you get polystone wet? Is this something important or a joke Im missing?

From another thread...

No joke. You should never get polystone wet... I'll let "The Man" hisself explain. Take 'er away, Mikey.

Water treatment. Get him in a nice neutral pose, then dowse the whole figure with water. I like to use a spray bottle so I can just hit key areas. Soak him up and let him air dry standing in the pose you want. Gravity will make the cloth hang more naturally.

Cool thanks Mikey. Does that go for PF's too?

NO!!!

Never put water on PF's. They've got polystone in them, wich reacts badly to water. You can do it to the garments, just make sure the underlying figure STAYS DRY!! For examply, if you want to do this to Kenobi's robe, then make sure the figure is well wrapped in plastic and sealed, then put the robe on him and do the water treatment. But don't let the polystone get wet. EVER. When you go to clean the dust off, use compressed air on the polystone parts, with no water.

Awesome tip on the TP in Lukes legs. I was afraid it would limit his posability, but since I really only stand him up straight it's cool, and even if I didn't it doesn't effect it much. Finally a non-sick Luke!

I've redressed anakin a couple times, both in testing and when repainting, and getting his arm on and trying to fix up the sleeve etc.

I just recently did the little mod darkside did bringing the leather tunic flaps next to each other in the front as they should be, that gap was bothering me and when i saw his i just thought "DAMN I gotta do that!", so hopefully i can STOP messing with anakin now:

I haven't used water, but i dunno im to impatient to sit and spray and let him dry heh.

I'm so lost.

I googled polystone and water expecting to see an article on what would happen. Instead I got listings for Polystone water fountains.

I also got this tidbit that says Polystone does not absorb water.

So what's the scoop? What happens? I mean, I trust you guys, but I'd like to know how things go wrong.
