Re: Remy's Toys! Current Inventory starting on page [94]

Ok, so every morning, when I get up before going to work, everyday starts off the same.
I make some coffee, then I go back to bed...hit the snooze bar several more times...well...then a few more times...then I get up
and make coffee and I sit on this little chair. My dad's retired and when he is in town, he stays with me. He left this chair here that he bought at some garage sale. It happens to be the best seat in the house.
From here, I can see every single collectible figure that I own. I turn to my side and I can see the Detolf that's in my room.
Then I face the hallway, and I see the 2 detolfs in the hallway.
To my right, I can see the only two 1/4 figures I own that's in the living room.
I never get tired looking at them.
I feel very fortunate that I think I pretty much have what I wanted, that even if I quit now, I'd probably be good with what I have.

But we all know, there's no quitting in this hobby.
Cause everytime I do, then I see several more that gets teased...like Man of Steel...New Robocop...etc.

Took lots of pics recently. Some figures required heavy modding.
Some, just adding a little something to make it look even cooler.
I'll try my best to describe some of the mods or addition that I've done to each figure.

First off is my Sideshow EX 1/4 Captain America: The First Avenger Premium Format.
I bought a Sideshow Wall environment that surprisingly blended well with the statue.

The cool thing is I made several backgrounds but this one that I ended up using turned out nice cause the lighting on the artwork almost looks like the background is illuminated.

Currently, the statue is using the Steve Rogers head cause the helmeted head is being repainted by one of the best painters in this forum.
I'm really looking forward to getting it soon.

Re: Remy's Toys! Current Inventory starting on page [94]

My personal opinion, Enterbay's Batman Begins is the best Batman collectible that I've ever seen, barring full size figures of course.
The detail is amazing. The cowl is spot on. The figure looks like Bale shrunken down.

I had the pleasure of Having Mike (aka Mr Ecko) create a batcave diorama for me.
The batsignal has a plastic background on so it gives it a cool effect next to the rough texture of the cave wall.
I have some of the lighting hit it so that it really pops out.
If you look closely also...you'll see bats flying all around Batman. :)

...On to 1/6.

First up...Rainman's Tyler Durden ver 1.
This was one of my sought out figure cause regrettably, I passed when Rainman offered this.
At the time, I didnt know if I wanted to continue collecting these figures, so I was very bummed when I finally realized I really wanted one.
So even when the thread was dead, I would still look at the thread and live vicariously through the collectors who were fortunate to snag one.
My personal favorite was Teddy Daniel's repainted head cause it was painted by Boot25, who sadly is no longer part of this forum.
Boot25 at the time used a new technique which has a transparancy, to make the skin look more lifelike.

I asked Rainman twice if he would sell me a blank head, but regrettably, he responded with I'm sorry...its no longer offered and sold out. :(

So one day, I'm browsing the for sale...lo and behold...Teddy put the headsculpt for sale. :horror
I remember fumbling, typing to quickly tell him "I WANT IT".
I felt like I won the lotto cause its the headsculpt that I really wanted, and luckily, no one else had snagged it.

This figures falls within my top 5 figure that I own.
The motorcyle shirt was made by Kato,
The pants, was I believe, A hot toys pants.
The Jacket was TTL jacket. The shoes are generic shoes I
found on ebay that I repainted. The cigarettes was made by Greggo.
And I added a 1/6 beer bottle I found on ebay.
The body is Hot Toys Muscular Body.

Fantastic stuff man!

Thanks man. And love your pics by the way.
My Vader is Sideshow's and I replaced the cape using the cape
from Hot Toys Original Batman Begins. :lol
It actually works and drapes well on Vader.

Next up is Elvis1976's Sherlock Holmes.
This is another figure where I felt like I won the lotto.
At the time, I bought I believe 2 or 3 figures, so I vowed to myself,
no more for awhile. Dont want to get carried away.

Late one night, I checked the for sale thread (yeah, some vow :lol)
And there it is. At the time, out of all customs that Elvis had done, this was my favorite of his. I really wanted one cause I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

I remember passing on it, but constantly checking and knowing for sure that it eventually got sold since most of his stuff gets sold in record time.
From what I remember, I believe the only reason it didnt get sold quickly cause He posted it late late that night. So after constantly checking it, I couldnt sleep, and when I saw it was still there at 5 am, I sent him a note to see if its still available, and when he responded "yes", I just couldnt pass on it.
I'm really glad I got it cause I knew it would have haunted me if I passed on it.
It was great dealing with Elvis cause he threw in a free gift, replaced the shirt with a better one, and I believe he also threw in better glasses.
Elvis did an amazing job. The hair is even mohair, and he totally repainted the head, and added the scruffy facial hair instead of a goatee since he used a Stark Head.
Really love this figure!

I did do a few mods to it myself,
I re-tailored the pants so that it would fit tighter cause they were originally baggy, I changed the shoes to Hot Toys Sweeney Todd boots, dyed the jacket to make it a little darker, added an Evilface custom nameplate.
Also added a book to his hand making it look like he is in the middle of an investigation.

Re: Remy's Toys! Current Inventory starting on page [94]

This is one I posted not too long ago.
I'm a huge fan of the game Mass Effect, it has been one of the most rewarding experience in my gaming history.
So I am surprised by the lack of figures since the game is such a huge hit.
I really wanted to get Sideshow's Premium Format commander Shepard but I'm trying to stick to 1/6 scale.
I've had the body for this for a long time, I was able to snag a body only HT Mark IV, but what took me awhile was finding a headsculpt that I can be happy with.
I've been trying to get customizers to do a commander Shepard, everytime there's an interest thread by a customizer, I'm always suggesting this, and there's usually plenty of "hell yeah", but it never goes to fruition.
So I had to make one.

I painted the facial hair and added the scar on top of his head.
Then I repainted the HT Mark IV, then added the battle damage to it.
I picked up two sci-fy guns on the internet, and commissioned Corrose
to make the N7 logo and the red stripes on his right arm.
I'm really proud of this custom.

you know i too was watching that sale! lol he looks awesome remy

Thanks man, and I'm sure we were not the only ones.
To this day, I'm really surprised it lasted that long.
I remember constantly checking it every 30 minutes, could not sleep.
Kept thinking it was probably sold anyway and that Elvis just hasnt updated it. Really lucked out on this one.

Re: Remy's Toys! Current Inventory starting on page [94]

Resident Evil Dio.
This project took me awhile cause I kept having different Ideas.
I originally bought a painted 1/6 Zombie Crawling out of the ground garage kit, and it looked cool with rest of the Resident Evil Crew.
So Originally, it was gonna be more of an outside dio.

But I eventually decided that it would be cool to go back to the beginning, back to the creepy mansion.
This time, the Three main characters are working together to finish Umbrella...AGAIN. lol.

I found a miniature store here in Dallas and bought a few miniature cabinets, small table, a grammaphone that I painted, candlelight, books, old style phone, creepy picture, and battery operated Miniature LED wall lamp to give it a nice ambient atmosphere.

I work in a printing company, so I printed the wall, and added the windows, and the rainy background.
Chris also has a metal gun I substituted that I found on ebay. Its originally a metal gun keychain, it didnt say 1/6, so I was glad when I received it and found it would work. Its subtle, but the metal gun adds a huge difference to the figure.
