Re: Resident Evil 2 (Remake officially confirmed) WE DO IT!

But the whole reason he bulked up was because in Code Veronica he encountered Wesker 2 times ( well 3, but one of them was when they were faced with Alexia ), and Wesker bodied him. He realised he needed to be physically at the top of his game for when they next met because it was his mission to take him down. Eventhough the real world reason he is bulky is most likely to fit the action hero trope, he does have a built-in reason. Its even referenced in Revelations 2 and he looks like he had lost mass for Re 6.
You don't seem to get that he's WAY too freakishly huge, and punches out a ******* boulder :lol most arguments I've seen leave out the boulder when they try to explain everything - like they show timeline progression, but conveniently, the stop at the boulder! I give him RE6 though, that's fine enough. "Chris is on roids" is a never ending joke for a reason, and is probably not a joke too.

Re: Resident Evil 2 (Remake officially confirmed) WE DO IT!

Yes I have. That's why I questioned the request for tank controls. Thought it might have not have meant the exact controls of RE, in all their unrealistic, clunky glory.

Personally, I kind of get the want of tank controls and fixed camera as that was part of the RE experience, but really being honest with it, it's old (and poor) design. I was okay with it in the 90's and even in 2002 it was passable only for the remake, but now? I don't think it speaks well for the designers if they decide mid 90's controls are necessary to deliver a tense experience. If you don't want improvement, the original RE2 is widely available.

Anyway, this is no doubt going to offend but that's not my intention, just my two cents. I've noticed some passive aggressive commenting and to be honest, I don't know if they are directed at me. If they are, that is unfortunate as I only mean to offer a respectful opinion on a franchise that I too have enjoyed immensely over the years.

Yeah, sorry if I came across a bit rough, but it's a strange question to ask, considering that you've been with series for so long. The controls in earlier RE games are clunky as heck, and I'd even agree that tank controls don't hold up by today's standards for modern games. But, I'd say that "tank controls" in RE were used specifically to handle the way the maps and fixed-camera scenes were set-up in games prior to RE 4. Capcom did include an "alternate" control scheme with their latest version of REmake for the PS4 and PC. But, it just doesn't feel as responsive or as realistic, as compared to the clunky controls that were originally designed for the game.

Even Revelations 2 questioned his bulk. So at least they acknowledge it too :lol

Theres always been stupid **** in RE. Boulder punching doesn't even rank in top 5 of offenses list :lol

Funny how they turned him into such a HGH/steroid junkie and he still got owned by Wesker :lol

No worries. I just hope they go all the way and give us something amazing, whatever that entails. In the meantime, I'm going to revisit RE2 for the first time in many years. :duff

In reality Chris should not have survived those punches from Wesker. That chin check he gives Chris should have knocked his head clean off :lol

Exactly :lol any hit from Wesker in the slightest should be broken bones or punctured flesh from his fists.

Re: Resident Evil 2 (Remake officially confirmed) WE DO IT!

For me, the classic controls are a must. I want the inventory chest and ink ribbons too, if possible. Over the shoulder would make it too actiony for me. I want limited ammo, fixed camera angles for Resident Evil 2 Remake. Oh, and I want the old Claire voice actress back.

Re: Resident Evil 2 (Remake officially confirmed) WE DO IT!

Hopefully fans are tweeting her and letting Capcom know that we want Alyson Court back.

And Jill, as well. He even had Sheva's help both times!

Pretty much. No one should :lol

But everyone else acknowledges RE's stupid **** as stupid, people try to say Chris punching a boulder isn't stupid

Re: Resident Evil 2 (Remake officially confirmed) WE DO IT!

Chris punching a boulder is stupid, but it's funny stupid and that's the kind of stupid I like.
