Capcom is finally releasing REmake on PS4 physically via a REmake/Zero double pack:

Figure Capcom would do this shame I bought the physical copy of RE on PS3.

I know people always diss on Capcom's choices, but I really have to applaud them for persevering in trying to make a quality product for fans.

While RE5/RE6 most definitely took a nosedive in tone/story/game design, the new controls were in no doubt definitely influenced by the success of RE4. And when they did recognize their mistakes from RE6, they quickly took note of the positive reception of Revelations (which partly seemed inspired from the really good "Lost In Nightmares" chapter from RE5 anyway). In turn, they capitalized on the formatting of Revelations and served up Revelations 2 which was definitely a step in the right direction for the franchise. Now with all the constant mentions of RE2 being a desirable remake, they listened to the fans and finally decided to work on one.

So yeah, for all of Capcom's misses, I'm honestly glad that they actually try their best in listening to feedback, especially when attempting to put out a new RE game.

Not bad to hear, but makes me feel silly for one of my reasons for buying REmake on GameCube :lol they did a double pack long ago on the GameCube pack as well, and then another with RE4.

Hey folks, I was wondering if y'all could help me out here.

I recently managed to acquire a nice copy of RE2 for my PS1 via eBay, & it's on it's way. I guess I could've googled this but anyway, is disc 1 dedicated to Leon & disc 2 to Claire??

In other words - if so, can you start with disc 2 if you like & not have to play through both CDs to complete the game properly?

Cheers. :duff

The best way to experience it would be, do Claire first... which is scenario A, and then go with Leon after completing Claire's to do scenario B. They're opposite sides of a connected story. It's common knowledge in the fan community that is the true breakdown of the story. Claire's weaponry sucks for scenario B, since it's more difficult and there's an extra boss you need to deal with multiple times throughout the game. Leon is the Terminator, since he gets way better weaponry and you can upgrade his pistol, shotgun and magnum.

Cool, thanks man.

I did actually do a google search, but I didn't find the info I was looking for specifically. I did read about what you mentioned there though Snake, so that much I understand now. :)

It seems quite layered & involving, which I really like the sound of. As I mentioned way back, I did start this game back in the day, & got up to the police station, although I can't quite remember which character I was using. It's only taken me 15 years to 'get back on the bike' so to speak. :lol

There even comes a point where you find a weapons locker, and it has a Uzi and a sidepack that lets you hold two extra items. You can take both if you want, but the 2nd playthrough won't get anything. I always take the Uzi with Claire and leave the sidepack for Leon. She needs it a hellva lot more, trust me.

You find the weapons locker in the basement, after you meet Ada as Leon. Not sure about Claire but I think it's when she loses track of Sherry for the first time. And yeah, I do what Plissken does too. Claire is just woefully underpowered, Leon is too overpowered at times.

I've been playing Revelations 2 again the last couple of days. I really, really dont see why people rate it alot higher than Revelations 1. or Re 5 & 6 for that matter.

If you were to describe the game, characters and settings then maybe it sounds better on paper. But it just doesnt feel nice to play.

I was just playing a level in Raid mode, i was a Resident Evil 2 character, fighting the Executioner Majini on the beach from Revelations 1. And i was bored! How the hell can that happen? Rev 2 manages to make things that should be awesome dull and mundane. And im coming at this as a guy who has put in about 300 hours on the PC and 100 on the ps4.

I dont get why it jumps higher up the ladder than Rev 1, Re 5 & 6 and gets praised for being a return to the survival horror blah blah.

Operation Raccoon City is still the best in the series, no one would have a single doubt about it.

Revelations is not even close!

Spoiler tags man.. :gah:

:lol

All good. Just got my copy of RE2 - & woo! Absolute classic. As well as realizing that my threshold for horror games stops around the 'stylized comic book-y' type vibe that RE1, 2 & 3 provide (& I'll likely get RE4 for PS2 at some point), it also brings me to the realization that, games like 'The Last Of Us' are just beyond my threshold. Not my thing. Can't handle that ****. :lol

Spoiler tags and this fanbase, good one! :lol

Go on about The Last of Us though?I'm curious

I just can't handle that ultra realistic type of gory horror stuff.

Truth be told, out of morbid curiosity I just started watching a TLOU walk through on Youtube atm, & it seems like an excellent game. All the emotional business though, would drain me pretty quickly. Tension & intensity in a game are great, but all the harrowing events that take place in TLOU just go against what I want out of a game. I'd rather be entertained, not traumatized. Why do you think I gave Tomb Raider 2013 a rest half way through - & that's nowhere near the level of TLOU's heavy content.

Yes.. I'm a lightweight. :lol

I've never really been a horror fan, but I do still appreciate a well made piece of work whether it's a film, game or whatever.

RE2 is one of the greatest games of all time... and it's not even the bloody zombie stuff that makes it so unique. It's got such an atmosphere to it that no other horror game really captured.
