Chris and Leon come off as angry bros :lol and Chris really is the steroid infused, brooding face of RE now.Tragically, and it's awful. I'm just glad Capcom didn't go with the 'maternity leave' bs some fans wanted in 6 >___>This would be amazing. Hell, with the action focus the CoD fans want and direction Capcom is pushing, why not?

The fan community for this series might be the most idiotic soap opera fans in gaming. Just look at all the creepy fan art and fan manga floating around for it...

Orc is non canon bs. And re5 was during a time when re thought we wanted action. Honestly they can make Jill a great character if they try. Make her like this small time cop who is taking it easy and trying to form a normal life but disaster strikes again and she has no choice but to go back to what she was running from.

The problem is re characters now are like super soldiers who run right into the action and don't run away from it. That's what made the first re games great. They never were prepared for the monsters and zombies they faced and they felt invulnerable to them. Now it's like your heavily equipped to take on an army of monsters.

Oh I know it's non canon, he problem is that was the start of her ugly face model.

RE5

Potato nose, but still Julia Voth.

I still say the MGS fanbase is just as bad, I ****ing hate all the fanboys in it. Yet RE's fanbase...they just don't seem to get what RE is, or was about. I say this for both the CoD lovers, and the people who believe RE4 was the end of RE.

I mean MGS fanboys are just all "Kojima is our lord and savior, he do no wrong!", but at least they sorta know what they want, and what that series was meant for....even if it has gone off the deep end

Except the ones that loved RE6.

there's also the one that are liking that Umbrella Corps game.

At least the RE community is aware of how bad it got, unlike MGS fans...

You've gotta love how RE fans want the old games back, and a remake of RE 2. A lot of them have actually been very vocal about the future of the franchise, whereas MGS fans have been incredibly slow to the uptake, until the series was already over with MGS V.

You'd think MGS would come first in that regard, since it's been more of an intellectual series where as RE has been more about killing monsters with a good enough plot to match it without taking itself too seriously, until recently.

RE fans are smarter I guess.

I think MGS died intellectually with MGS 2 :lol. Maybe Kojima should've just left it at MGS 2 and not given us a sequel. Yeah, it would've been disappointing, but there would've been far less plot holes than what happened at the end of MGS V, and all of the cut content.

Anyway, I really need to give REmake a second playthrough, I'll probably start tonight.

The remaster would of been perfect if they didn't forget to touch up a few panel backgrounds and left them unchanged from GC.

Having not played the GC version, I was pretty impressed by the character models and ambiance of the PC release. Along with great execution of sound and scripted scenes. Just to think that Capcom actually made this game in the early 2000s is pretty incredible.

Are you guys downloading RE0 or buying the disc?

I could never get into MGS. I have no idea whats going on. I played MGS4 and MGS rising (cuz it looked so fun). Did not get a single thing . SOmthing about nano machines and some really disturbing backstories for each boss in 4

Maybe it's because you started with the 4th, a game which bookends the entire series, and a spin-off that has nothing to do with any of them? Logic would stand to reason that you start with the first game in a series that interconnects.

Well maybe I just didnt feel like playing or finding a ps1 or ps2 game. I know how the logic goes. I wasn't going to hunt down a ps1 game just to understand the story i just played the game and it wasn't that confusing I just didn't understand most of what was going on. With Rising I had more of a grasp of what was going on.
As a whole game I never understood it but i played the game to have fun.

MGS is a series that relies heavily on its established canon, starting from 1998 with the release of MGS 1. That said, MGS 4 was pure fan-service, and you won't really get much out of it, if you never played all of the previous games. Imagine if you pick up a 400 page book, and instead of reading from the first page, you start off from page 300. It's like that if you jumped into the series with MGS 4 - you won't understand anything about the story. I'd say the same also applies to MG Rising to a large extent.

Yea honestly I don't know why I played 4 I just thought it looked really fun along with rising . I didn't pick up 5 cuz that looks very heavily story based and I knew I would t get it so I didn't bother.

I played the GC version, so I sorta remember what Pliss is talking about. I got another copy recently, and may play that sometime later. I need to go through REmake again as well on Hard this time.

Apparently it's the opposite with 5, but starting with 4 was a bad idea since as Solidus said, it's really meant to 'end' the series. MGS is not an easy series to get into, believe me it took multiple tries to get into. There's also PC ports, and some demos on the internet of the games. That said I think I had the worst time getting in the series in general :lol
