Around these parts we don't take kindly to the like of folk talkin bout Claire redfield in any type of negative way. So you best preach at that hate somewhere else feller or I'd have a mind to get the sheriff on ya.

Burn the heretic.

I cant help but like Claire eventhough she is the most boring of all the main dudes. Her character is literally that of " im the sister of somebody important ! ". She is lucky enough to be in the best RE games though so i think if she is involved in any game theres an automatic +1 for the game.

She's better than her boring brother.

Nooo way. What do we know about Claire? In Re 2 she was generic woman whoes story started with - im looking for my brother. To the game ending, ive got to find my brother. And then Code veronica - i went to Europe looking for my brother. And ending with her brother. A bit of awkward **** situations with Steve. And she was a none entity in Revelations 2. Moira stole the show from her. Even Natalia.

Chris is just a boring flat character in RE1/REmake and CV. And then he became a roid junkie, and then the failed attempt in RE6 to give him depth as angry Chris Hemorrhoidfield. There's nothing heroic about him, it's like were forced to just go along with it. There's nothing likable about him. At least Claire has charisma.

Claire only had charisma in Code Veronica. She had asmuch charisma as a wet tea towel in Rev 2

That's the thing with the old school RE characters, they were more or less average joe's thrown into extraordinary situations. They didn't have much personality so you could project yourself into them, but had just enough personality so you could relate to them.

It's why Leon's personality is all over the damn place going from RE4, to Degeneration, to RE6. Capcom didn't know WTF they were doing with him, but Claire kept her charisma from RE2/CV into Degeneration that unfortunately disappeared in Rev2. No idea why cocky RE4 Leon turned into stereotypical silent bad *** Japanese protagonist in Degeneration.

I like RE4 Leon a lot, he had probably the most confidence of any character in the series. I wish they just stuck with that persona, and being 6 years after RE2, I bought the change in his personality. It's quite true he hasn't been consistent since. He became Batman in Degeneration, and then a ***** whipped teenage boy in RE6.

And you're not wrong, the PS1 era of the games had very one dimensional characters. You really never get any insight to anyone's psyche. You did with Chris in RE6, but it was so ham handed and forced, that I just didn't buy it nor care.

Claire wasn't the only strange change, Barry in Rev2 continued off of PS1 Barry instead of REmake Barry both in looks and voice/mannerisms. I enjoyed Rev2 but it's like a completely different studio handled Rev2 with the character inconsistencies.

When the Action Trilogy rolled around, the normal joe's were now superheroes and less relatable, especially when given more personality that sometimes didn't mesh well with their old Survival Horror versions. Chris in RE6, Wesker in RE5, Jake's existence in RE6 effecting Wesker further even after death (ugh), Claire in Rev2...all ugh.

Pre-RE4 I personally related with Chris the most, but RE5 and RE6, not so much. I think I relate to Barry now the most :lol

Revelations 2 had really bad writing. Claire was suddenly bad with children, yet Moira, a stereotypical punk girl, was great with them? :cuckoo: Claire Quoting Steve Burnside when she originally questioned him? Moira in general?

Leon in RE4 is my favorite character in the series, he had confidence but he wasn't cocky or arrogant. He had a good grasp on things, the only reason he didn't otherwise was because some things were entirely to the franchise like the ganados.

I have to say though, Jill post-REmake...is pretty meh. I don't know what to peg her as. In RE5 I get that she was mind controlled so we couldn't see much, but in Revelations and Lost in Nightmares there wasn't much interesting.

I think RE4 was meant to poke fun at a lot of the series' stuff. Then RE5 came along and the series got too serious and dramatic for its own good. :lol

Just played the 7 demo. What the hell was that? It was like PT but bad. Do they even know what this next RE game is going to be?

the main game won't be like this... .

I think the Re 7 demo sucked and it got so much praise because it fit the youtube culture of lets players playing first person horror games because its what gets the views.
