i wanted to know if you could give an honest opinion or not lol. out of the 6 movies this one seems to be seen as the worst by multiple sources. i was curious if you being a super fan noticed some of the negatives or not.

i hate shaky cam and boring stories. of the entire franchise I Only hate resident evil 4 because of how pointless and boring it was. 1 2 and 3 i own. i enjoy all of them

i dont own 5 but it was at least entertaining. the plot is almost non existent but at least they make it up in action. I do hate that Paul cant tell a good story for s-- t. ( hes a good director but as a writer he is awful)

personally the franchise goes to s- after 3 because Paul cannot even make up his mind. In part 3 the world becomes a desert and then in part 4 theres water again (retarded)
Then in part 4 he creates clones but in part 5 he kills them ALL off at the beginning. the guy cannot even be consistent with his OWN ideas...

Resident evil 1 2 and 3 flow well story wise. they make sense, they are a coherent story, i like all 3.

parts 4 5 and (now 6 it seems) make no sense,

Crows it's pretty shaky cam. I just got back from seeing it. Its a mix of shaky cam and quick cuts. I find myself still being able to follow the action, but it does feel a little tedious especially a few actions scenes that start to drag a bit. If you found yourself annoyed with the shaky cam action of Winter Soldier you will HATE this.

That said it does have some neat visuals when it gives you wide shots. The story is dumb as **** and they made up a lot of new **** for this movie...but that's expected because they always do. Ian Glen was actually the best part of this movie. You could tell he was really having fun hamming it up. I can't even get mad at the disrespect they delivered to Wesker in this because at this point I'm just like "meh what is this movie even" :lol

Silly movie. I was entertained. Thats about it. If you liked the last couple of movies you'll like this one. If you didn't well don't go see it :lol

Did you like it, Project? I'd put it pretty close to the bottom on my personal scale

First movie.
Apocalypse
Afterlife
Retribution
Final
Extinction

Dats my rating.

I feel sorry for that Paul guy. It's like this is all he has and he's messed it up so bad that he doesn't want to do it anymore.

It's more or less a noahs ark/great flood scenario. Ian glenns character wanted to cleanse the world because of overpopulation, global warming, resource depletion etc etc...so they supposedly created the apocalypse to kill off tons of people while they stayed underground and wait it out in cryofreeze

So ya :lol there ya go.

When you say honest, you mean can you say something that validates my own belief that this film is bad because that is what some youtubers are saying right?

So far this is the highest rated film in the series on RT and Metacritic.

If you own the third movie might I suggest rewatching it. Earth doesn't become a desert. Alice says lakes and rivers start to dry up and the movie takes place in Nevada (apparently this is a little know fact but Nevada has a ton of sand every where). The movie shows a "from orbit" view of Earth twice and water is shown both times.

How is creating clones and then killing them inconsistent? Inconsistent would be if we were shown the clones and then they never came into play. Afterlife followed through exactly how Extinction left off, with alice claiming she was headed for Wesker with a bunch of her friends.

It really does seem like every time I see someone say "this is a plot hole" or "this doesn't make any sense" and you press them to explain it becomes clear that said people are mis-remembering facts or just claim they weren't even paying attention in the first place.

I have disagreed with their reviews on youtube sometimes but I still trust them more than some smug, jaded critic from the New York times or something....
The youtube reviews are literally NO different than You and me talking right here, right now. Im not saying that I think they are honest because I agree with them. only because they are no different than us giving our opinions in here.

as far as the earth becoming desert, the shot you are talking about shows the continents as yellow implying they all became like Nevada.... come on... I clearly remember the entire american continent shown as yellowish brown...

how is creating clones and killing them inconsistent

whats inconsistent is how Paul Anderson creates things and then he has no use for those things and then he writes them off. thats what is inconsistent about it. He thought the idea of clones was cool but then it didn't suit the story anymore so he kills them ALL of in a quickly manner.

he takes Alice powers away but then she still has super abilities to fight the zombies. it made no difference that her powers were taken away. she still acted the same way as when she had powers...

each movie forgets what the last movie did. They forget where they left off or they forget to bring back characters. How did RE 5 ended and how did this movie start? from what I read they COMPLETELY ignored and forget how the last one ended.... besides killing off EVERYONE that was there at the end of 5....

how the f -- is that not inconsistent to you?

This one is hilarious in that last "inconsistency" you mentioned. For instance Wesker rushes Alice at the end of retribution (the previous film) and re-injects her powers back into her...but in this one they apparently decided "jk we don't wanna do that" So they brush it off by saying Wesker pretended to inject her, but they never really mention why, DC was some sort of trap...but I don't think they mention why or how. It just was...Ada, leon and Jill are never mentioned...nor the little deaf girl from the last movie... they just move on...It's so funny

...it's more like Paul writes himself into a corner and then just gets lazy and decides he doesn't want to deal with it...so he writes a quick fix and just moves forward hoping no one will notice or care...which, lets be honest...not many people do. :lol

yet still I'm not mad...and I go and watch these films....whateva!

'thats a good way to put it. he comes up with something that he thinks is cool but then he cant use or work around what he did in the last movie. it's like each movie its like his own passion projects to see stuff he thinks is cool like clones.

And from what i am reading of how the t virus was created it sounds like paul completely forgot what he wrote in resident evil 2....................

Wow so they don't even mention Leon or ada? But how about freaking Jill? Lol you gotta love how the main re cast just seems to collect the check and leave after each movie.

Chris who?

Like I said it's like he gave up. He picks up the check to feed his family and leaves.

"Did you know that 'Extinction' the 3rd film, was originally meant to be the end of the story?
with Alice's clone army being a afterthought for fans.

But they decided to make 'Afterlife' the 4th and worst film. eliminating the clone army plot in the first 15 minutes because they knew how outrageous it was"

"The Final Chapter' also left out a Main plot point from 'Extinction.
At the end of 'Extinction', It was revealed that Alice's blood which succesfully sinced with the T-Virus at a meleculer level could create a cure using the Hive she was in.
giving the movie viewer hope that the world will be saved as the Alice clones awaken to take revenge on Umbrella."

yeah Dirtydale, this is Not Incoherent AT ALL......

Right? Forget Dr. Ashford and his little girls illness. :lol

I mean....pretty sure there was a cure since the first movie :lol I'm sure you could wiggle around that fact and say something like "ooh but this is a better cure!" :lol

Oh well. These movies don't stand up to nitpicking critique because They're not meant to, ya know? it's just nonsense. Every movie is just an excuse to get Milla kicking, punching and shooting monsters and zombies. As long as it does that everyones fine. Trying to find philosophical solace in the films plot is pointless. Just forget there's five other movies, Crows and try to just watch the silliness with a light heart :lol it's not that bad...but bring an advil for the shaky cam :panic:

I really enjoyed where they took the story and really liked the ending, but man, it was really hard to enjoy it given how terribly photographed it was. It's kind of funny considering all of the slow motion used in the last two films and how this movie looks like Paul Greengrass shot it while consuming Tony Montana amounts of cocaine. It was kind of nauseating at times and very hard to see what the hell was happening. I never thought I'd say that a Paul W.S. Anderson movie looked like crap, because if there's one thing he knows how to do, it's shoot a movie, but this movie looked like hot garbage, mostly due to the editing. There's some impressive sets, including one that looks like it was lifted directly out of Event Horizon, but the movie is cut so poorly that you never get to see it.

Milla just seems to get more attractive as the years go by too. She's always a joy on screen.

Yeah, Paul usually shoots some pretty nice visuals. Yes the slow motion is silly but it's at least nice to look at. In this film the action is just a jumble, but during the slowed down parts where characters are interacting and going through the exposition, the sets look really great. The zoom outs and pans are great too. I can't say I didn't enjoy the last few scenes with the zombie wave because it was really interesting to look at.

That horror room with all the hanging bodies and what not looked GREAT! it was spooky and had gross lighting and then the monster came out and everything started shaking like a maraca, which is a shame because the set looked really nice. Ah well...

That's the scene that I was talking about that looked just like the morgue from Event Horizon.

hes always been a good director.

Movie is out now so lets check out those atrocious plot holes and monumental errors this one script creates:
Spoilers....

1. Virus was released in RE1 by an umbrella employee that planned on selling it off in the black market

( now it was all part of the umbrella plan from the beginning to end humanity and start over as part of an apocalyptic plan.)

2. RE1said Alice was really a Spy trying to take down The corporation.

( now shes just a clone and has no memories of anything before the beginning in RE1)

3. In RE1 Red Queen kills all employees of the Hive to prevent the virus from spreading, including killing more umbrella workers in the laser room, and won't let Alice escape unless she kills michelle Rodriguez

(Now red queen can't harm Umbrella staff though)

4. Beginning of RE2, they open the Hive and accidentally release the virus, so then they start evacuating their top scientist and researchers out of the city as a top priority.
And the put up a wall to keep the viirus from escaping.
Going as far as to nuke the city to avoid the virus from leaving.

( now all of the umbrella elite are all frozen underground waiting for everything to blow over because it was always the plan to have the virus released. )

5. The first origin of the T-virus was that it was created by a scientist to help his daughter to walk again. Also the inspiration of the Red Queen was that same little girl.

( now a different scientist made the virus to help his rapidly aging daughter. Also the Red Queen is modeled after her. And Alice is really a clone of her ).

6. At the end of RE 5 wesker gives alice back her powers because the red queen is going to destroy humanity. Wesker rescues alice and teams up with her in the battle for dc with jill, ada and leon.

Re the final chapter completely skips the dc battle they teased at the end of part 5 that fans were excited for and they kill jill leon and ada off screen and never even mentions them.
Also wesker is evil again..... but is not as powerful as in previous movies.

And the red queen instead of being evil like RE 5 said now wants to help alice save humanity....

This might be the worst way for a writer/
director to destroy the continuity of his own franchise.

This one movie single handedly destroys the plot points set up in parts 1 and 2 and creates plot holes the size of an elephant...

Plus dont forget the epileptic shaky cam and dozen quick cuts per second that is giving people headaches at the theater....
This almost feels like paul literally saying f k you to anyone that cared about this granchise
