With Kong, I saw both of the others and it is a rehash, how can you get emotional over a plot you know like the back of your hand?

What about all those people who knew the LOTR story like the back of their hands? They knew what was coming and on these boards we've seen them say they got emotional seeing it on the big screen. Though, I get what your saying.
