We get it, we get it.. You like to brag about how much closer to death you are.If you didn't see the original Star Wars in theaters back in '77 then...

*50 years from now*Funny thing is, I bet I have a decent shot at outliving between 60-75 percent of people who are 20 years younger than I am just based on lifestyle choices. Getting proper exercise and not being morbidly obese goes a long way.

Revenge of the Sith is my favourite Star Wars movie, it's just pure Star Wars lore.
I rewatch it far more than the others.
I'm going to outlive you all.We get it, we get it.. You like to brag about how much closer to death you are.
It's weird how the same person that contributed to the destruction of Star Wars is also capable of making the brilliant "Knives Out". I find it hard to discount him too much.
I thought Knives Out was okay, but thought Looper was fantastic, so I had high hopes for TLJ. Then all the praise from the critics had me really excited as TFA was just okay, and I was looking forward to the movie which was "better than ESB" (which is impossible for a SW movie). When I saw the movie, I couldn't believe what I had seen and thought it was a sick joke. The crap jokes, the crap bomber space ships, the crap Mary Poppins, the crap Admiral Akbar death, the crap Holdo and even more crap Holdo maneuver, the crap Rey, the crap crap Luke - the list goes on. The deconstruction has no place being introduced in movie 8 of 9 in a series.I saw Knives Out, it was decent.
I think the difference is, Knives Out was its own thing.
It wasn't a middle film in a trilogy where cooperation and collaboration is needed (which obviously he didn't do for TLJ)
He doesn't understand Star Wars or it's characters at all.
Twists and turns and "expectations subverting" work in "who dunnit" mystery films like Knives Out but not Star Wars.
Sure maybe if he was given a trilogy far divorced from everything else, set in the far future or something, where he can't mess up established characters or lore.
But then, TLJ was also horribly boring so even in that situation I'm not convinced he'd do a good job.
Maybe he should just stay away from Star Wars.

I’ve mentally erased the ST just like I’ve erased the entirety of Game of Thrones.I’ve mentally erased the ST. They never happened in my SW world. I remember being close to tears watching TFA trailer, and thinking “ OMG it’s really happening, Star Wars is back!” Then utter disappointment with the film after seeing it. TLJ was insulting to anyone that had grown up with the original trilogy lore. I remember coming out of the cinema feeling like I’d been abused and that I’d wasted all these years thinking how truly fantastic SW was, and for what?… So some director obviously completely detached from the films, thought it would be “clever” to basically urinate on all that went before it and him. The Star Wars culture has been irreparably damaged since the ST. It will never be what it was, and for that I’m very sad.
A great ending can make or break a whole series. I’m back to rewatching Castlevania due to how strongly it wraps up.I haven't wanted to go back to rewatch GoT once since it ended.
I rewatch shows like Mr Robot and TNG because of great endings, great storylines and great characters.
