Damn, how did I miss these pics! It looks freakin outstanding. I like the translucence that they gave the horses eyes (I was worried that it wouldn't look as good on the production pieces) and the robes appear to hang very naturally.

Neither have I, it is contingent on how the production piece turns out. Hopefully it turns out just like it looked at SDCC and as good as these Dark Rider PFs.

I know some people decided the sword would not make a huge difference, but looking at that factory image makes me glad I'll get it.
It'll definitively add to this.

Same. I figured I didn't want to miss the exclusive on this, this one was first, the paint job on Sauron is potentially a deal breaker and I would most likely end up with both anyway.

This won't lose cash on the aftermarket if Sauron kicks it out the park you could still shift it for the same if not more if you can only afford once piece.

I'm hoping the sword is metal, it will really add to the EX.

I don't think sideshow will make a metal sword. All there weapons are plastics or polystone like the berserker pf.

I was sure the Berzerker had a metal weapon? I almost bought him the other day on Ebay and I remember this being mentioned in reviews.

True, the Berzerker does have a metal sword. But I think that's a special case. I think that's probably made of metal for practical reasons, not aesthetic ones. It's very long and he's holding it out straight, so I bet it's metal to keep it from warping/bending. If it was polystone/plastic, it would probably bend or break very easily.

Yep, the Berserker PF sword is metal for sure.

It really adds to the piece being so.

I would love the DROM PF sword to be metal too - but I have my doubts.

False, i saw pics of the berserker sword bended over the handle and other pics of the sword broken into 2 pieces. No metal inside the sword. Total polystone.

Sorry. I own it. It's metal. And heavy. It's possible it's coated in metal, as Fremen suggests, but it's definitely metal.

Man, the more I see pics of this piece the more excited for it I get. Just finished watching the again Hobbit, which like LOTR you can watch it over and over... Does anyone have any idea when we may see a Hobbit PF and any speculation on what the first piece may be? I would love for SS to do a Bilbo followed by Thorin. I don't think they will do another GTG so I may have to pick him up on ebay. I also think that they could do all the Dwarves, but not as individual pieces. They would have to be diorama type pieces with 3-4 dwarves per release. I guess we will have to wait and see. BTW, waiting sucks!

What happened to your green man? I thought about getting him but in the end decided that little bit extra for Sauron might be worth it so I'm holding out. Hulk is open ES so no rush , at least at the minute.
