Ya know, as an outsider who didn't follow his political career, all you catch is the slew of madness on the news and it's easy to get a sense that he was completely off the hinges, but of course he must have had enough positives to offer politically and professionally to be elected. We just don't get to hear about them as much in America

Oh of course. That **** was crazy! When you're the crack smoking mayor who ends up being Late Night Show fodder, that tends to overshadow most things. Lol We Canadians just get a kick out of being 'noticed' by you guys.

He refused to step down so the government stripped him of most of his power. But they couldn't force him out of office. He still fought and did what he could 'for the people'. He was actually in the midst of a comeback. Went to rehab and cleaned up not too long ago.
