Reboot=a fresh start. It will not redo or replace the greatness that is Predator 1. Think Batman Begins. BB is spectacular, but doesnt take anything away from the original Batman. I look for "Predators" to be a new story that may give us a look at the Predator mythology.

my whole problem with reboots is that they rarely work and just reboot them again , and again

how does holly wood screw up good franchise material like (fant 4 ,superman,xmen, avp)
fail miserably and then try again a couple years later (hulk), did they NOT know the first hulk/F4/superman werent great movies before they released them? How does that happen?

that's a shame. he makes boring movies.
i'll expect Predators to be basically Dog Soldiers 2.

I just read on a Dutch Movie site that Robert Rodriguez has given some new information on the new PREDATORS movie.

Apparently:

The movie will be directed by Nimród Antal, the director of Kontroll and Vacancy.

The movie will be a character driven movie, about a close group of people who get stranded on the Predator planet and must face the horrors and attrocities of the alien planet as well as the horrors inside their own group.

It does seem like it has a lot of potential to either be kickass or horribly dissapointing. Having a bit of a hard time figuring out how band of humans would last 5 minutes on a Predator planet... but guess if they can get out there the weapons will have come a long way.

My concern is if they are on the predator planet, they will most likely kill off TONS of predators so the heroes can survive. Or have them sneaking around in it which will also suck because the predators would obviously know they were there. This is not looking good so far.

I still wish they did a story of a bad blood predator with an elder chasing him down. Something along the lines of we see the bad blood kill predators on his homeworld, then he flees to earth where he kills all he sees without honor (like children, injured people, ect.). Then the predators send an elder predator to hunt him down and the have a crazy battle at the end where the elder wins and lives then goes back home.
