I wonder how many if the people establishing a hate campaign on here for teh lulz of their friends have actually seen the movie?
It seems unfair doesn't it - bagging a film we haven't seen. :lol

As I've said earlier though - I'll watch it eventually.. but I've seen & read enough now to get the gist pretty much anyway.

Incidentally, I watched an episode of Letterman the other night - & Keaton was on. They mentioned $200 million so far or something - I'm not sure how recent that episode was, but they didn't talk about it much. The focus was more on his new role in 'Need For Speed'.

Finally saw this tonight. Overall I thought it was a good movie. I only wish there was a bit more action. And I agree with the lack of a clear villain. It just seemed like it was forced in there so they could have a villain.

If you're on the fence with this movie, don't be, it's definately worth seeing it once in the theater and even dvd ownership, especially if a bit more gore.

Just don't expect greatness like Dredd and you'll enjoy it just fine.

Who buys dvd's?

Streaming only good for movies not worth owning.

Because when it comes to my very cherished movies, no internet connection, company server, low bit rate or missing extras will stand in the way of my uninterrupted enjoyment of those movies.

I've stopped buying DVD's and Blurays. Waste of money with everything streaming to any device you want and any time. I look at my shelf of 300+ and think of all that money wasted. :lol

Feel the same way. My movie collection went from a lot to almost 15 bd's.

I had no idea Keaton was in NFS! My enthusiasm to see that movie has now shot up.

Whilst it's cheaper to download or stream, there is no replacement for a good blu ray disc or CD. Call me old fashioned, but I like owning actual physical copies of movies and CD's, I like having a collection of films and music. It supports the industry too.

I don't like the whole "collection in the cloud" stuff. I want to put a CD on, and listen... not click a file on a laptop.

Streaming picture quality still sucks compared to discs.

Meh, it's hit or miss depending on the connection and age of the movie. Still better to stream something like The House That Dripped Blood than spend $20 on a disc just to watch it or blow $40 on a gold foil embossed polybagged steelbook bluray of Avengers that will sit on the shelf after being watched once only to sell it for $2.50 once the the next video format of Avengers comes along to waste more money on.

I can tell you that my gf and I really enjoyed the reboot. We both watched the original film about a week or so before so it was fresh in our memory, and also had kept ourselves spoiler free of the new reboot, steering clear of reviews and any kind of fan reaction. I must say the current take on robocop was clever, inventive and thought provoking. The theme of morality was clear throughout the film, and had a very plausible prediction of what warfare will become in future years. It had many good ideas in there as the original did, but went its own direction introducing new characters and giving us more of look into murphys life.
It did contain a few questionable plot threads which i wont go into in order to keep this spoiler free, but overall the plot was solid, and casting was very good IMO. S.L Jacksons charcter was a good idea but slightly over used, and Gary oldman stole the show as the conflicted gifted head technician, troubled by his own creation (robocop) It was nice to see the involvemnet of murphys family this time, a welcome change and something we thought the original was in need of.
IMO it was as good as the original classic, and i hope they plan to do a sequel.
