Right, sorry, yes you have to subscribe. I do and seldom use it to actually download stuff but I listen online constantly.

As far as the infamous downloading topic, i'm not sure if the proper companies get their share or not, not to mention the artists themselves. Probably a topic for somewhere else. But since I'm not personally spreading the tunes around, I don't feel guilty for using it. Especially since I'm going to buy the actual CDs.

Sorry to hear that they only give you the 30 second trick outside the US. Also they didn't keep the FOTR or TTT Completes up very long, so if anyone actually thought they could do this instead of buying at all, well, Not Really.

Anyway, those that can, Enjoy and hopefully everone's discs will show up next week.

Hey if anyone can send me a link to listen to them online I would appreciate it, I am definitely buying it anyways, but we have to also wait a bit longer for that too here in Ireland. I can't stand it that its on there and I can't even listen to them!!! aaaarrrggghhhh!!!!!!!

PM will be sent shortly....

Well first THANKS Pixletwin for helping me out!! :D Secondly, having now heard the entire score it really is EPIC and you are all in for a very nice treat indeed!!! Can't wait for the 5.1 enhanced disc so I can blow the neighbours into outer space with "For Frodo" :D:D:D:D:D

That's true, but there's more meandering, atonal stuff within these 4 hours than with any of the previous Complete Recordings. Tracks like "Journey to the Cross-roads" or "The Paths of the Dead" (kudos on using vritually all the remaining book chapter titles, Mr. Shore!) really aren't interesting music; I found myself deleting them from the playlist after two listens.

Then again, I'm sure the subwoofer on the 5.1 DVD Audio mix will make all the difference. Yes, I've pilfered this from the Usenet. I like having the mp3 version at my workstation, and the actual discs in my home theatre room. It's not my fault this set has been delayed yet again, so I couldn't rip it myself!

Can't wait for the track-by-track analysis by Doug Adams to come online here, too...

So far, the amount of sheer joy presented here is overwhelming. My biggest surprise, though, is quite unexpected -- "Osgiliath Invaded" features music for the original cut, in which Gandalf and Pippin arrive at Minas Tirith concurrently with Faramir's retreat. Very interesting to hear!

Doug and the FSM guys talk about this and more on their latest podcast, btw.

Well, better they used a DVD-18 flipper, than reduced the bitrate...

The music is amazing, even in the sucky 10w stereo of my PC speakers.

Amazon shipped mine today.

And if the price is prohibitive for you but you are still interested in the music, you can download the set from iTunes for $24.99. You will lose the DVD and beautiful packaging, but save some money.

Simply awesome. I can't wait to upload this onto my Ipod as well. By the way does anyone know if there's a way to upload disk 4 from each set onto itunes? The one with the complete soundtrack? I know it's on a DVD but I thought you could still upload to itunes.

They have software which will allow you to convert a DVD to a video file that will play on your video iPod, if that's what you mean.

If you are talking about pulling the soundtrack off the DVD and adding it to iTunes as individual songs, then I don't know how to help you with that one. iTunes itself is not set to rip the audio tracks off of DVDs, so far as I know.

You can get rippers for that, try www.vcdhelp.com and filter by the audio ripping. They should have something there if it's even possible
