Awesome! I have to say I just rewatched Blink again yesterday and it is one of my favorite episodes.....I don't have cable so I'm watching season 3 on DVD right now.

It better on DVD anyway. IMO.

Steve Moffat wrote all of my favorite episodes, The Empty Child 2 parter, Blink, Love and Monsters... Can't wait till the next two parter because its a Steve Moffat story.

I love what RTD did for the show, and I'm sad to see him leave. That said, Steve Moffat's body of Who work is frickin' amazing. My fave episode of all Who is "The Girl in the Fireplace" so I'm pretty happy he's taking the reigns.

The only thing I'm worried about is that everything we've seen from Moffat thus far has been grounded on Earth (yes, The Girl in the Fireplace counts as Earth). With a ship that can go anywhere, anywhen, why are we seemingly stranded on Earth?

I'm pretty sure RTD wrote Love and Monsters. Rubbish episode. (omg, I've gone native! :monkey1 )

I think bcm77 will like the first half but considering he hates Steve Moffat's stories, He may have a seizure! :horror

Good riddance to RTD,he started well but his agenda for making thinly veiled Gay Pride propoganda instead of sci-fi drama ultimately got in the way of good storytelling and in the process he created some poor episodes of Doctor Who and one of the worst spinoffs in TV history.
I'm not particularly enamored with Steven Moffat's prior work on Doctor Who especially the godawful Blink but I'm willing to give his version of the show a chance as it surely can't be worse than some of the tripe RTD has served up in the last series or so.

ahem.. in honor of what most people on DWF are probably doing... SQUEE! Can't wait to see Moffat's turn at the helm, especially if it comes to regeneration.

I now expect David Tennant to leave at the same time as RTD and series 5 will be the beginning of a whole new era, hopefully one that's more consistent in quality.

Only way that is gonna happen is if the last special is his regeneration. Other than that I'd like to see an early to mid series surprise regeneration.

I still don't understand whats with all that squeeing... sounds a wee bit pink to me. :lecture

I always took Squee to mean that intake of breath that can make those very excitable/far too hyper ones of us squeek.

I figure we will now see 5 Moffat stories per series, usually 1 and 2 to set up the arc, one story in the middle, and then the finale, usually 2 parts. I'd be willing to sacrifice the mid series episode for a 3 part finale though.

One change I would like to see to the format is make the series consist entirely of multi-part stories as the one offs are mostly crap, particularly those from series 3 onwards.
If series 5 has 13 episodes they could do 5 stories that are 2 parts in length and finish with a 3 parter.
This would mean a decent cliffhanger every other week and give writers the space to create more intresting supporting characters than the cardboard stereotypes that are in the current series.

I'm fairly happy with the current format as it gives Doctor Who the chance to be different every week. This is a series that works well with one story a week or two parters because, for most people, if you don't like the current story the next may be right up your alley.

I gotta agree with bcm on that one. I would like to see some stories expanded. The Doctor's Daughter is a great example of the story which would have greatly benefited from an expanded format. I epected the vintage "keeeeyyyyyooooooo" which heralds the end of an episode on the part where Marth falls in the mud.
