Normally when a show runner who has done a great job leaves it's the sign the show will take a dive. But Moffett seems like he's a great replacement - as with many others, he's written some of my favorite episodes. Hopefully he'll be able to continue to write as well as run the show.

I gotta agree with bcm on that one. I would like to see some stories expanded. The Doctor's Daughter is a great example of the story which would have greatly benefited from an expanded format. I epected the vintage "keeeeyyyyyooooooo" which heralds the end of an episode on the part where Marth falls in the mud.

I actually laughed for a good 2 minutes when that happened. Had to put it on pause and then resume.

He he.. Yeah, Freema's acting has sort of been on par if some Nu Who acting... and I mean that in a bad way. :google

Yea, I like her, but she kind of does teh Nicolas Cage. Where she uses the same voice for everything, and doesn't really emote very well on screen.

Needs more Cyberman...

I'm glad that we have a Cyberman episode coming up...and at Xmas too...

I saw the reference to Doctor's Daughter and just skimmed over it.

But I'm asking the UK freaks to help out us US Whosiers and don't drop with the spoilers in non-spoiler threads.

m'kay?

So you don't think RTD has an agenda for including as much gayness in his shows as he get away with? Have you been watching different versions of his series to me?

He obviously tries to throw a bit of the stuff in there, but I don't think Doctor Who is a gay rights program. I think Darren was rolling his eyes that you find it offensive.

I now expect David Tennant to leave at the same time as RTD and series 5 will be the beginning of a whole new era, hopefully one that's more consistent in quality.

That is going to actually bum me out... I LOVE, let me repeat that, LOVE Dave Tennant as the Doctor. I know a lot of people don't for whatever reasons...but I find him incredibly charming and likeable. I will be sad when he leaves. :monkey2:monkey2

Not so much offensive as unecessary. I just don't see what relevance that type of thing has in a sci-fi drama and it seems RTD only does it for the sake of it,not because it has any real purpose.

I think RTD was just trying to add a bit of diversity to the Who-niverse. And possibly going for cheap laughs. As Woody Allen said - being bisexual automatically doubles your chances of getting a date Saturday night.

It hadn't really registered on me that Moffat was responsible for Jekyll, which I really liked. I'd recommend seeking it out.

Word. This might be grounds for revocation of my Who Fan Card, but Tennant is my favorite Doctor.

For me he's number two, right behind Tom. Oh and Dave, I loved Jekyll myself. I was actually ordered to have Barnes and Noble order it tonight so the g/f could witness it's amazingness after a trailer on the Who dvds.

I am a bit annoyed that there's all these guys making out in the whoniverse...and hardly any girls...

I know that's what Torchwood is for, but still...

I'd put Tennant at 6 or 7 out of the 10 Doctors so far.
He's good at being "manic" but totally unconvincing when trying to be serious or angry and IMO he's continued in the role at least a series too long.

For me:

1) Tom Baker
2) Peter Davison
3) David Tennant
4) Christopher Eccleston
5) William Hartnell
6) Patrick Troughton
7) Jon Pertwee
8) Sylverster McCoy
9) Paul McGann
10) Colin Baker
