No, I didn't want to spend $50. This one cost me $28. I probably will end up getting the one with the trunks head though. Looks very cool and is my favorite look for trunks.

Hay Datong, if you're reading, then we need a Teen Gohan head please & thank you

Dear Datong,

You might as well create the entire Dragonball Z Figuarts line since you've already shown that you're capable of making near identical replicas of characters like Vegeta, thanks! :)

Watch your mouth (or fingers...whatever) These guys are still bootleggers, these are still pirated figures, don't forget the irreparable damage they can cause to line and the collectors if we're not careful.

Never forget who the genuine artists are, the ones working hard to create the originals.

I only support the idea of having alternatives to scalpers who are selling these figures at 5x sometimes 10x their value. It's only ok-ish when the figures are no longer being produced by the company and they are no longer selling them anymore (SSj Vegeta, SSj Trunks) and even then, it's still a morally grey area.

4 years from now when Broly is no longer being sold by bluefin or any of Tamashii's distributors, with not plans to produce more, then I would support more alternatives being produced since the company already made the maximum amount of money they could by selling all of their stock they had.

Be careful what you ask for, if KO's start being made while the company is still selling the real thing, there would be catastrophic damage to the line, and the collectors.

Just got home from Battle of the Gods at the theater. SO much fun! Hadn't seen the movie before and I really enjoyed it. Was also just great seeing a DBZ flick in the communal setting. Brought my fiancé, her first exposure to dragonball other than my figuarts and after wondering what the hell was going on for 10 minutes, she got into it and had a blast too. Was definitely one of the funnier DBZ movies/shows.

Completely agree. This line almost died once due to poor sales. It was the increased fan support that resurrected it into the line it is today. Please buy the real/ official figures and keep this line going strong. Would hate to see the line lose steam because of KOers. Only reason i could understand going the KO route is if its an old figure (at least several years) that is no longer in production with little hope of a legit rerelease.

My other gripe with KOs is it kind of screws over people who want to buy legit figures on the secondary market and unwittingly buy a KO...

That's basically what Datong Vegeta is.

Yes she is! She still thinks I'm an idiot and a child, but she can appreciate the finer things... like goofy japanese animes with bad jokes and people yelling loudly while bright, epileptic lights flash.

@Philosopher, thing is, I want the to respect the original artist and producers, so I agree concerning bootlegs.

BUT I also want to BE respected as consumer by said company. Nd that to me includes proper sales tactics and communication. They're starting to highly miss the mark on these imo. Since this sdcc, the year honestly, I feel they've had plenty of chance to atthe very least properly communicate where they stand and why, even if it's undecided as of yet.

However, they remain very vague, contradict their own release rules, and display product that's consistently unavailable, as a way to sell available product, when they KNOW the state of current demand.

It can reach a point where a company starts losing some of my respect. And t that point I could start to stop caring about bootleggers, because the originl producer is doing absolutely nothing to defend NOT giving in to bootleggers from a consumer pov.

I'm a principled consumer in these things, but for a line that garners them so much succes, due to a lot of fan praising and love, I feel there comes a point where they have to honor that in return. And they're imo starting to miss chances and moments to do that, even if it's just in little things like proper communication.

At a certain point it starts to feel like a disproportional exploitation imo, and that can make me lose respect, and ergo any applicable buying principles.

I mean on the whole this is my nr 1 collecting hobby, my fandom of it is in that way very big. But when this many people cry out over missing a very central character (a ssj vegeta, in any form) and they're just not answering demand, at all, I at the very least would just like to know why. Why Vegito and not Majin Vegeta first?

I'm sorry, but I think demand should decide release schedules, not some principled 'other characters deserve a release too' ********. A normal market serves the majority demand and that always entails the availability of core characters, I'd say in this case limited to two: Goku and Vegeta. And I'd say their ssj versions are the top priority.

And if they don't want to go that route concerning availability and want to go full 1 time only limited run sideshow-style, stop. displaying. unavailable. product. Period. Don't hook people with things you're never giving them proper access to anymore.

But pick one and communicate it to consumers. That's fair business imo.
