I also wouldnt get too excited about Datong tbh. Sure, ssj Vegeta was decent, but scouter Vegeta was quite poorly made imo. Some wont agree with me, but its true. Paint apps were missed, other paint apps were smudged and rough. Mine even came with two left feet! I mean seriously, scouter Vegeta was rushed out the door as soon as they realised we would actually buy these bootlegs.

Honestly at this point there's no reason for them to NOT do Cell, Trunks, etc. There's obviously a demand for these, their SSj Vegeta wet everyone's appetite so why not capitalize on the rest?

I don't need translation. They clearly stated that once they're done with Frieza, Goku, Super Saiyan Vegeta and etc, they will work on Perfect Cell and Trunks.

Qft. Tinlunlau translated the information from the manufacturer's microblog after we got two shoddy translations from chrome and bing. Trunks and Cell are on the way.

I've checked datong's weibo page just now. They announced ss2 goku is coming very soon. That, we all know. There's mentions that their SS1 Goku and Normal Goku are coming shortly after.

They've got Frieza and the reissued Ss Vegeta next and once those are done, they'll work on Perfect Cell and Trunks. That is the jist of what they've implied.

Two left feet... yikes. You're jaded, I understand. The only problem I really have with it is the lack of shading, primarily the legs. The joints are a bit loose, but the bandai one has the same problem. Beyond the quality of paint, the vinyl used by bandai is just higher quality than datong.

I will say Scouter Vegeta's faces are nearly identical and the blast effects are about as unexciting as the original. I'm glad to see bandai finally stepping up their game in that department with ultimate gohan.

I hope one day they can release effect pieces as add-ons specifically for the DBZ line. A few other lines have them and DBZ is riddled with crazy energy attacks. From the looks of Ultimate Gohan at least they seem to be giving more thought to effects. I'd love to see a Dragon Fist effect or just a huge plastic energy ball in different colors. That Special Beam Cannon we saw with the Piccolo figure looked sick, wonder why they never released it?

I'm not even that annoyed about the two left feet, it was the armor that got to me. It lacked the shading and outer highlight that made the original stand out so much. Without it, imo it LOOKS like a bootleg, wheras ssj Vegeta didnt.

It just got left on the cutting room floor, along with Nappa, Shenron, that blue aura variant for SS3 Goku. Who knows what other awesome stuff they made that's behind closed doors :dunno

We need to assemble a crack team of spies to break into Tamashii headquarters and do reconnaissance. If need be they will risk their lives in the process but it is for the good of collectorkind.

For those that have never seen the blue aura variant, here it is

I'm sure if they ever do another aura effect, they will make it easier to assemble & more efficient than the one that came with SS3 Goku. As "simplistic" as it was, putting it together & making it stay was a pain in the ass for me

Bandai should really consider releasing a shf dbz playset. Much akin to what they've been doing for Super Mario.

Huge disappointment not getting that special beam cannon with Piccolo. Apparently big green is getting another rerelease btw.
