Looks like tori can't get enough of these gods. First there was the kais, then the supreme kais, and then universe gods, and now this is the god of everything? Next that little guy's gonna have his own god.

lol I was thinking the same thing... But, you forgot about Kami whom is supposed to be God... lol

*watched DBS 40* .... *deep sigh* So how's about that Dragonball GT, huh? Pretty great!

I thought cabba had a cool design and so did hit.... they are aliens and I'm glad they had the bear and the robot to change it up. Not every villain has to be bad ass especially insignificant ones. As for the gods it makes sense kami was a god for namekians not gods for everyone else. Also I think he is going with a Greek god style with God's for different things.

so what's the deal with Monaka? Is he a fraud or no?

I laughed my ass off at what I put into spoiler tags just now. Nipurus was def funny.

I'll keep following where it goes, whether I actually watch the episodes or just read synopses, but it has way too little of what made me a fan of this franchise. Clearly that's in the past. I feel no connection to this material except whatever is just a rehash of what came before.

It's SO whacky that I'm almost like the western dub won't even fit it. Not sure of course, but, Gods destroying planets full of people over pie... Don't see them recovering from that. At least TFS manages to keep these characters cool while being funny (hell, it even improves some of them), as did the original dragonball, which was whackyness covering action and sincere plot beats. DBS is the other way around: it has some cleverness and action covering comedy and dumb plot beats. It's a farce with some moments that just pay homage to old stuff.

It's starting to inflate my awesome memories of these characters and it's putting a cap on being busy with this franchise as a whole. Including these figures.

Times change and peculiarly, nothing is telling me DBZ is dead as much as its sequel series right now. Idgaf about what Toriyama's intentions where, or what the original dub was, the DBZ I saw had serious depth to its characters and this feels insulting to it. I don't care if it is (meant to) or not, to me it feels like that. And I don't need that.

What I need... is a ****ing... MAJIN VEGETA!

I would like to present to you a custom figure from a very close friend, his name is Jean Carlos, he is also from Brazil.

I think it looks pretty amazing, what you guys think?

^ That's ****ing awesome! That's genius, such an easy custum beside that headsculpt, which is damn proper! Can't believe I've never seen this done before.

Anyone know how "well" DBS is doing in Japan? Because ultimately, that's what Toei Animation (and whatever TV channel it's on) care about the most. It's ratings.

From OUR (Western) perspective, I think DBS fails at what a lot of other similar 80's/90's cartoon revivals (TMNT, Thundercats, Transformers, G.I. Joe, etc.) had slowly picked up on and actually 'developed' better: The fact that its original, core audience has grown up and matured. Therefore, your storylines can be smarter and bit more adult-oriented while still being kid-friendly. Both Transformers and TMNT have done this quite successfully with their continual animation iterations (TMNT on Nickelodeon right now and Transformers:Robots in Disguise) and appeal to most age groups.

I went to a small con and snapped this beautiful picture

And I knew, I had to show you guys :rotfl

I forget why exactly he died, either because of his act (cosplay contest, I was there for my friend who was Sailor Pluto) or someone said "DIE YAMCHA!" or...something :lol

That Yamcha was all over the con though, he even had the scar! He usually had some misfortune - though I don't know if it was part of his general act - and people took pity on him 'because Yamcha', though I know he's actually a pretty nice dude.

Well fellas, I'm not gonna be posting on the forum for at least 8 weeks. I'm going to basic training for the Air Force tomorrow so I doubt I'll have access to the Interwebz for a while. Hopefully when I return DBS will be at epic levels (lol) and there will be plenty of Tamashii goodies awaiting my drooling over.

In the words of Arnold, "I'll be back."
