How on earth did tamashii manage to ADD pointy shoulders to the one mould (Vegeta) that didnt have them? How is that even possible?

He doesnt look all that bad in those pics, but the face is obviously not shaded/painted at all so comes off cheap looking. Maybe its better in person, idk.

SSB Goku's faces were kinda dull as well. They didn't even color the line on his lips in for the smirk face.

As for those photos, that proves that lighting makes all the difference. Shishioh always takes professional-looking photos of their figures, which makes them look glowing like they're in a Hollywood photoshoot lol

I was looking at Goku yesterday, and they definitely have the same boring face. I really hate the squint and iris placement/size on both of them. The irises on Vegeta look bigger but he's squinting so much that his lids are touching it from the bottom. Goku's irises seem like they're too small... ugh no ****ing consistency whatsoever.

They should of just used the same molds from what they had already, especially for Goku's hair since it's WAY too short and small looking.

Figuarts Golden Frieza doesn't seem bad though. Maybe it's since he is just a repainted Freiza, but the figure seems fine.

At first glance it would seem so but he's actually not just a repaint as there are parts on his body that have been remolded entirely.



He's a really cool looking figure IMO. The two tone gold turned out really well.

Yeah, Frieza doesnt actually have a single reused part from what I could see. Even the tail is slimmer.

Ok, I need some advice from the customizers here; what would I need to do to get Gokus ssb hair to have the same "sheen" as Vegetas? I figure its easer to add than to take it away, and I can easily buy another bootleg goku ssb to use as the custom head. Would a clear gloss model spray coat do the trick? Or would satin be closer?

It's gonna be tough to match, but i imagine a gloss coat may do the trick OR you could spray vegeta's hair with matte or satin. If you wanna go all out you could custom paint BOTH their hairs haha also before you paint make sure to wash it with soap and water to get rid of any residual mold release that could interfere with the paint sticking on. After that if you wanna custom paint both to metallic i would say very lightly sand over the surfaces so they dont become too thick after painting. Dry brush or air brush a very nice gloss black over the hair, when it dries brush a very nice metallic silver over it. After that use clear blue paint (i like tamiya clear paint) as the finisher coat, this should give you a nice metallic blue finish.

If you want to attempt to give them a chrome finish you would have to sand the gloss black with a very high grit sand paper, paint on the metallic silver and polish it.

Whichever path you choose good luck! But i guess easiest is just adding a coat to either goku or vegeta, i wanna say a gloss coat may match vegeta more.

Kind of hoo-hum news for DBZ Figuarts lately. Aside from Armored Trunks, there's not too much to look forward to in my opinion. I hope Tamashii shows us some new stuff soon. Aside from SDCC, any other Toy event coming up where they might show something off?

Tamashii Nations Summer Event is on May 21st so we might see something new there

I don't think so, I'm looking back at last year's event and the only dbz stuff they showed were Figuarts Zero ssb goku and golden frieza, they also showed off dragonball tamashii buddies, that's it

That's the convention where SSGSS Vegeta was revealed, right? Then the convention I'm thinking of must have been after. I'm not sure where this is from...

I believe that's the convention where Super Warrior Awakening Goku, Premium Color Future Trunks, and Premium Color Super Saiyan Vegeta were revealed.
