I do the same thing, works really well. I actually thinks it looks better than the SHF excl belt. If you don't care about the look of the back of the figure, I'd say cut the belt on the back and you can entirely click the figure down and easily adjust the belt without the middle joint ever being visible. The material is sturdy enough that it stays and perfectly fine even just 'clasping' around the waste.

I always wanna say Big D came up with this, but maybe it was Crisis, I forgot guys lol, thanks to either and/or both.[emoji38]
It was crisis ;)

@sirlian interesting idea on cutting the belt, although i dont like the thought of having to damage it, i do have liquid cement either way, but we'll see if i consider this haha.

The only other decision i have to make is whether i want to do manga colors or anime colors. I have a spare manga ssj goku that i could use to do a manga color saiyan saga goku, and a spare gohan body i could use for anime, both of them i would have to repaint the red lines to yellow, and the gohan body i would have to darken the blues (not difficult, i'll use my red real touch marker again like i did for my SDCC ssj goku replica), i have an extra goku head from the SSB figure and tons of normal goku faces since i have 3 of those (well 2 and 1 namek one). Originally i had intended to use the gohan and figure bash it with piccolo to make a purple gi gohan (ive kind of given up on that idea tbh lol). So you guys think i should go manga or just stick with anime?

also, take it easy on Jess guys. we all want the best out of this line, he was just expressing some enthusiasm and ideas, we all know it'd be terrible for them to do a completely new figure for a con exclusive. Spinning off his idea, probably better if it was reversed, but showing them at the same time isnt bad either (just that tamashii has no precedent in doing this). But it's all good, we all love DBZ and we all love the line, no need to get so heated over such a thing :)

I was simply countering his points. I could have been easier but I wasn't about to just accept the snide comments.

1. Most of us here have been in this line for years and seen plenty SDCC figures from this line, and every single one of them immediately doubled in price. Not a week later, not a month, the first day every SDCC releases the price shoots up and stays there.

2. You realize the only person you are convincing here is yourself, right?

3. There is no way to get them affordably and I'm having nightmares just thinking how much a 3 pack of brand new figures would go for.

4. The PCE term is Tamashiis way of reissuing old figures with a new paint job, it's not their exclusive tag.

5. No one got screwed by Tamashii with Vegeta,

6. they were different figures, and anyone who thought they wouldn't remake him, especially after awakening Goku was such a success, was, to be harsh here, delusional.

7. Finally, to tell fellow members they aren't qualified to counter your opinion just because they disagree isn't cool.

1. I've been in this line since 2012, I bought Cell when he first went up for preorder. I've seen every SDCC release since SSJ Gohan. I know how it works.

2. I'm already convinced it would work. They show a PCE 3-Pack with 2 new figures and at the same time say the regular versions are up for sale in -blank-. How does that not work? No one has to buy the SDCC, just like every year it's for the really big collectors, and everyone knows when the regular release comes out. Right out the gate I'd say he'd shoot up to probably 800-1000, about the same price at SDCC 2011 Goku.

3. 3 of the last 4, and probably the next, event exclusives have been almost the exact same. Mexican Goku has exclusive new part. If it's not okay to release a new figure as a SDCC exclusive, then that counts. But the main point is MXN Goku, SDCC Goku, Kiaoken Goku, and probably SDCC Kiaoken Goku are hardly diffent, basically a figure and it's SDCC/PCE. Why are 4 of the last 5 exclusives all almost the same figure? I know that MXN/SDCC15 Goku are Frieza Saga and Kiaoken is Saiyan Saga, but they could have used these slots to recolor the four original SSJ Figures to make all their hair match the current hair coloring, instead of giving us new parts and an exclusive effect part that we have to buy 2 of those just to get.

4. Again, I've been here for all but a handful of the first releases. I know what PCE is. And again they've never stated what you said is what it is. In fact they've countered everything you've said about it. If what you said is true, then what about SDCC Broly? He wasn't old and they said that he was a PCE right on the box. That makes both points invalid, regardless of their typical trend.

4. I remember plenty of people were either mad, upset, or thought it distasteful how they released the Vegeta.

6. This just proves my point more. Anyone who thinks that they would not release brand new figures from an SDCC set is, harsh but true, delusional. How could they not release them? That just leaves them with less money in their pockets and an upset fan base that will be less likely to continue their line.

7. It was not very cool, I know that. But there are bigger problems in the world than being told you are not qualified to counter someone's opinion (which by the way I did not say that, I said he was not qualified to talk on the subject, meaning from a business standpoint, not my opinion.) I know I should have acted differently and I'm sorry for how I did snap back. Things happen.

Friend showed me this on Instagram. The upgraded body looks amazing but I can't see a 2.0 Future Trunks unless it either comes sleeveless or no jacket at all. Both adjustments should be fairly easy and give Tamashii Nations another 2 Future Trunks releases.

I'm glad I didn't buy any DBZ Figures and now the 2.0's are starting to come out :lol

Although, I can't help but notice the proportions are a bit funky in the new one.

The main issue with all of this is the price. We're not just talking about 150-250 starting market price. This would be the most expensive situation since 2011 Goku. NOBODY wants that. Not even the company.

Please check the end of my second point. Also, if Tamashii doesn't want something to be that highly priced on the market they would have redone the 2011 SDCC Goku by now. But they haven't. Why? Because that's the point of an event exclusive. Couldn't get it at the event? Buy the regular release or suck it up and pay the market price. It's not their fault you couldn't get it, that's why they have the regular releases.

They haven't run into that issue because they've been smart about it. 2011 Goku will ALWAYS be THE holy grail in the line.

don't get too happy. Tamashii has already confirmed that they are working on even newer "3.0" molds for the future of their SHF line, supposedly the joints are virtually seemless while maintaining articulation. although they haven't said anything about DBZ 3.0 molds, do expect for it to inevitably happen

:lol it's a matter of time.

Although if it's those body-kun that are like a skeleton covered in a condom-like rubber skin I'm not interested, they don't look great.

I'm a little divided when it comes to silicone/rubberized Dragonball toys that are still in the 6 inch scale. I have some Phicen 12 inch dolls here and they are made of silicone with a "stainless steel skeleton" frame inside so that they can be seamless and posable, but the problem is that if you're not careful, if they bump into anything sharp their flesh will get damaged. If this same technique is used on smaller 6 inch scale Dragonball characters, I'm afraid that they might be prone to getting their flesh damaged more due to how extreme Dragonball characters are usually posed. Maybe whatever is under their flesh (maybe skeleton steel frame or plastic), it might poke out eventually. But then again, I'm pretty curious to see how awesome a seamless and highly posable Dragonball toy would be like! These will probably be more expensive if they actually go the silicone/rubber route and also more prone to damage just like the larger Phicen dolls, so they really need to come up with a design that would protect the Dragonball characters from damaging themselves simply from being posed in certain ways. Maybe they would also give them real clothing just like Phicen stuff so you can take off Goku's uniform or something to go for a more battle damaged look.

I wish instead of skinned figures they did a Mezco and just did the clothes in fabric, some of those Dimension of DB figures look amazing.

Some look funky but it's just a matter of getting the tailoring right, and it would hide most of the articulation without the need for rotting rubber.

Tonight's episode of Dragonball Super made me love Gohan again! I think tonight's episode is one of the best! The fight scenes were great and unbelievably brutal, nicely animated as well!

i'd be totally down for mezco style dbz figures guys! especially if theyre as detailed and come with as much stuff as the mezco stuff does.

if Whis trained Gohan instead of Piccolo then he woulda been a Ultimate Super Saiyan Blue by now :dunno

Yup, and Gohan got his ass kicked.
I'm wondering what kind of Ultimate form Gohan is working on...
Anyway...:

THAT :

I want to know how this guy did this custom with the torso being what it is on the Time Patroller.
I'm interested and would gladly do a Future Trunks this way.

Gohan said he didn't want to go the same route as Goku in obtaining an ultimate form.

Yeah, also, he actually traded blows with Goku in SSB, as Ultimate Gohan, freakin amazing, Gohan WAS trained by a diety too let's not forget. He kinda represents the highest Kai training vs Goku's Saiyan/BoG training. Really like that they've restored Ultimate Gohan through the story and still differentiate him from the other saiyans. I loved this episode so much, can't wait to hear all these moments with Sean.

Honestly, by now DBS has homaged, acknowledged and went into so much of DB and DBZ, it's kinda redeemed itself for me. This is a whacky franchize and DBS sure doubles down on that as well, but there's serious/sincere enough moments in DBS that I definitely wouldn't want to have missed out on.

Btw, so was it confirmed that DBS' ep-count was expanded over a 100 episodes?
