DF isn't bootleg though. They create their own molds and production line. At worst they are copyright infringing. Changing the name of their DF characters is a mild way of skating by and is then more likeness infringement. This is not the same as bootleggers.

Actually, by the current (and relevant to the context) definition, bootlegs (also known as knockoffs) are copies of existing products (same molds and all). Products that are made without the licensor's approval (such as the accessory packs from Demoniacal Fit or the characters that don't exist yet in Tamashii Bandai's catalogue or not reusing existing molds are called third party or unlicensed products (also sometimes called pirate products).

As an exemple, Datong makes bootlegs, Demoniacal Fit makes unlicensed accessories and figures. Jacksdo also makes unlicensed accessories and figures.

In any case, Bandai could attempt to stop Demonical Fit with a cease and desist since they do not have the license for Dragonball products, but like was said earlier they use slightly different names for characters and they walk on the blurry line between legal and illegal.

The same thing happened with LEGO and LEPIN, eventually LEPIN factories were seized by the authorities but the week after that a bunch reopened under another name. I'm sure Demoniacal Fit already has backup plans.

they are all on the blue-fin site (minus Frieza) for cheaper than BBTS. have been for 2 weeks before that BBTS email.

They don?t claim anything. Resellers are the ones making that claim. They either are getting an estimated production amount or a limit on how many they can order for their own to sell.
