I don't think I've seen anything that handled time travel as well as DBZ. It's the only instance, where I think it makes sense. I think it's pretty brilliant, the way Toriyama had Gohan call out the flaw in almost every time travel story.

I actually think the plots are good. Sure, I can pick at it, but I love the series. I've seen movies, that I deem pretty flawless, but I don't really go back to most of them. My all time favorite movie is Fight Club, and I actually skip scenes while watching it and I acknowledge the flaws, but the positives FAR out way the flaws. I can see how much more complex Simpsons episodes got around the 7th season, but I've watched the second season's episodes at least 50 times. I'm not exaggerating one bit! I wouldn't say Bart gets a F is the best written, but I love it so much. It's not a competition.

Really glad to see the announcement of Android 18 Was losing a bit of enthusiasm for the line after Pwnstar told us what was planned for the future, I'd like as many different characters as possible before we get to variants. Hopefully we get Android 17 before the end of the year.

If 17 is this year and the ex isn't a seperate figure (but retool, repaint) at best we'll only get one more character. It seems likely that would be the fan survey winner... I'm inclined to say whoever is the last of 2014 is gonne be on that list.

@Big D ooooh thief in that snse. yeah he iod steal the show quite quickily. We basically got one good fight out of each android (minus 16) and that was kinda it, and the future stuff. Yeah the reckoning of 17 and 18 by future trunks felt sooo good. It's funny how cell could've known all along he'd fail, as the fact that 17 and 18 were killed in his time already meant trunks had returned from the main timeline, ergo survived, ergo won.

Love how dbz gets **** for bad plots and yet it's one of the few that deal with time travel in a somewhat logical, dare I say clever way.

I think Cell didnt think he would fail because his timelines Trunks only deactivated the androids and didnt destroy them, hence why Cell was able to easily kill him and steal the time machine. In the cell saga there are at least three timelines; one where Trunks uses the controller after finding the plans in the present and thus doesnt get the super mode, allowing the Cell of that time to overpower him; the second is the Trunks we know, who went back and killed the androids and Cell, and our present timeline where Cell absorbs the androids etc.

I do agree that the way they handled time travel was among the best ways it could have been done, as in any tampering in the past doesnt affect his timeline, it just creates a parallel, the most logical answer.

Oh yeah!!! Definitely getting that Android 18! I wonder though, will they make 17 a SDCC exclusive?! It may sound dumb considering they've only done repainted figures up to this point but that would be pretty sweet, a 18 and 17 all in the same time!

There is a proto for it so lets all just all relax and take the road as is and start posting more pics. Gets old hearing all the *****en and complaining as to when, why how. Are you kidding me? That's awesome! So you're saying, there's another Japanese franchise I'm going to get into? The Metal Gear Solid franchise, Demon/Dark Souls, Tekken, and Crisis Core are the only games that I ever got really invested in, and they are all Japanese. There are a lot of games I really like, but those are the only ones I got super into.

Chrono Trigger is widely considered one of the best RPG's ever made. It was originally released for the Super Nintendo but has since been ported to the PS-X and more recently, the Nintendo DS. Toriyama is completely responsible for the character designs and some story elements.

I only brought it up because a lot of people think stories involving time travel are usually hit-or-miss, but Chrono Trigger is an exception. Youtube "Chrono Trigger Review" and I doubt you'll find a negative review about it.

From what I can recall, I think what was said was that Tamashii have a lot of prototypes of characters from DBZ, but only Saiyans are the ones that are most popular sales-wise, so that hinders the line. So it wouldn't be financially feasable for them to release several different characters that no one really cares for [outside of us hardcore fans, of course]. It was also said that Android 17 wasn't originally being planned for release, they just showed the prototype to gauge interest. Same with Nappa. But of course, things change, so who knows what the future has in store. I guess 17 relies on how well 18 does, so get your wallets ready folks!

AH! that, yeah, but it's worth noting that that MOSTLY applies to the japanese market. And the American market is what's driving this line.
Derringer talked about that as well a while back. this is why Bandai/tamashii is doing the surveys and such. they're still trying to learn what the american market wants.

Additionaly, it's worth noting that the japanese market is such a small part of the sales, that these are only sold as a bandi webshop exclusive in asia.

Long and short of it? to paraphrase Derringer " Everything is on the table. just not sure how long it might take to get there"
