I've heard people early on talking about how Zeno will be the one to come in and poof, no more Black and Zamasu. THAT would be the most anti-climactic and disappointing ending. If that happens, I'm done with the show lol

I see Zamasu getting actually contained by the wave and Black being defeated outright by Vegeta. That's the fairest way so each hero gets their guy. The fusion will serve to weaken them enough so they can be defeated. That'd be dope

Well the drama behind it being permanent is kinda dead since they admitted they can be wished apart with the dragon balls.

I was thinking the gods could introduce some new type of Potara that accomplishes the same goal except that it can be undone. They could always do something like that to keep Vegito a recurring character without the consequences of permanency

Honestly, I would believe the whole "power surge" notion too, but the aura clearly contains blue god ki, plus, everyone was surprised when he kept getting back up. They can likely sense his ssj power, but not the god ki. Its not full on ssjblue, but the transformation clearly shows him bulking up then slimming back down like what ssjblue and ssjgod do to the body.

I agree. A power surge has rarely, if ever, resulted in a character maintaining their increased ki. It's lost when they either burn out or were eventually overpowered. Trunks didn't show any of those signs. He was able to maintain and harness the increased ki after his initial rage was over and Goku Black and Future Zamasu overpowered him a few times.

Goku Black and Future Zamasu should be able to sense the god ki because they're gods/Kais. I don't think it's really a surprise to them anymore that a Saiyan can harness god ki though.

The transformation included god ki but it was also interesting to see that it was only Super Saiyan where Trunks had been a Super Saiyan 2 while fighting Goku Black and Future Zamasu before. So, like prodigy was saying last week, it's a sort of a "False Super Saiyan Blue" transformation.
