Having just looked at pics of the Mafex, I'm very much inclined to agree with you. Mafex have got him down, flicking between that and a pic of the costume you just see how well they captured him. Have to say, I could be all in for this one. If I'd bought the BS the other day and then I'd seen this, I'd be a bit annoyed right now!

I will buy the BS one if I find it at a decent price (no more than 40€), just because it will fit better in scale with SH Figuarts.
Considering the MAFEX Phasma bigger proportions next to SHF Kylo Ren, I expect that the MAFEX RO Vader will also be too much tall to be mixed with SHF.
Actually, I can't even mix MAFEX Boba Fett with SHF... he is taller than all the rest.
What do you think?

Well, MAFEX Boba is even taller than SHF Kylo Ren, so I don't know how he fits perfectly with SH Figuarts...
About Vader being so tall... I don't know, he should be more huge than tall next to SHF, and MAFEX will be a giant in comparisson.
Anyway, I will buy MAFEX for sure, he looks amazing and will be far better than the BS one.

Obviously, these are subjective evaluations, but I think the 40th Anniversary BS Vader has the best helmet of all 6" iterations of Vader. The MAFEX and SHF helmets for Vader are just...off. And the MAFEX Vader is a wee bit too scrawny for my taste. If I had my way, SHF would resculpt a perfect Vader, and then I'd be happy.

Seriously that looks great, the colour printing on the head especially. Works great for transitioned hair highlights. I know this is an unpopular opinion but I would have quite liked some soft tones of gold in the hair paint, but it looks amazing for those who like the character

Oh man, Chewie looks amazing. Glad to see he's the correct size too. Definitely a must buy; after those in hand pictures I think I'm ready to get Han and Chewie.
