I thought I'd get both Chewie and the Mimban Trooper, but aside from a goggled head and the cross chest bandolier and rifle, it's the same figure as the SHF Chewie I already have. April, May and June are gonna be pricey months for me with SHF, Black Series, Marvel Legends, Hot Toys and Mezco One 12, I just don't think I need this Chewie, but I bet that'll chance as soon as they make a young Han and Lando from Solo. I'm nearly out of room for my Star Wars SHF display anyways. Really stocked for the Mimban Trooper, im a whore for troopers and legion building. Ordered mine thru BBTS.

New Chewie is basically the same (bad) sculpt as the previous one...
Don't think Japan's sculptors understand the work of Stuart Freeborn...

Yeah it's so terrible. That's why it's going for over double the retail price.

It sucks that they're re-releasing Han. It shows that they will not be doing Han from Solo. Chewie has a few new parts and the Mimban is similar except for the nice paint job. They're doing the minimal effort to support Solo with just these 2 figures.

Especially compared to Rogue One, that entire wave was showcased months before the movie released. Solo opens in a matter of a month or so and these are the only 2 they've shown. Maybe they'll do Han/Lando further down the line. Perhaps Rogue One SHF didn't sell well enough to merit a big wave for Solo. If it ends up good or successful, we'll prob get more figures in like a year when it's not really on anyone's radar anymore.

I didn’t preorder new Vader, old man obi wan, and now I think I won’t preorder new chewie or the trooper. I did order a second Jedi luke to keep one in box

Damn, good call, I may do that as well. I have Farmboy Luke and Han both in the box, and got extras to display. Would be nice to have Maul and Jedi Luke in box.

^you people all seem to forget that Star wars isnt as big overseas as it is here, to us. And this line of figures is only for overseas markets, so what makes sense to them makes none to us, just how it is. Take what you can get

This ^

Also keep in mind that there has never been a SW movie, along with its merch, released in this sort of time frame before.

That makes no sense. They obviously know that people buy online to get the figures; but why would they do all the effort for all the normal releases that get sold in store in Japan? If they only wanted to sell offshore, they'd make them all web exclusives and make **** tons more money since they'd collect all the profits and cut the stores out.

this whole blurb shows you dont know anything about the market/licensing and what webshop exclusives are...

The Irony is strong with this one

Ok so don't defend yourself.

You said they make the SW line for overseas...where it they can't legally sell them because Hasbro has the license. Please go on professor. I'm dying to hear your lecture.

I wouldnt doubt old Han goes up around may 1-4 as a webshop item, uses the Solo hype and gets him out, Rey is a complete toss up, im sure she'll be a webshop item now though

Um...It’s true Figuarts Star Wars can only be sold overseas because Hasbro has the 6in scale rites in the U.S. Because we are able to purchase them from a 3rd party
like AmiAmi, MyKombini HLJP etc we can get them here in the U.S. and other countries. Figuarts competes with BS because they are the same scale Disney blocked the import and sale of Figuarts in the U.S. meaning you can’t put in an order for 6 cases of Jedi Luke from Bandai and sell them in the U.S. like stateside stores do with BS, DC Collectibles Neca etc. that same store can order as many as they want from as many Overseas stores and sell them in the states. This also prevents stateside stores from buying cases of them at the retailer price then selling them at SRP they buy them like us and mark them up even more when they sell them.
