Yeah, I read this. Don't think this will happen. In the end I do believe PJ will be directing The Hobbit.

To put it plan and simple: Aint no Hobbit without PJ. Saul Zaentz himself has said it. There is no way MGM is going to distribute a Hobbit film it doesn't want and I doubt NL is really going to make a film that a) would be really under rush b) die hard fans aren't interested in and c) can't be distributed without the prospect of serious litigation.

If it can't be PF then Raimi is a good choice. He's a geek at heart and would respect the material. Also first I've heard of anyone disliking Spiderman 2 - one of the best geek films ever made.

Well, if Jackson can't do it who would you have make the Hobbit? Would you guys rather George Lucas start messing with this series? Sam seems a good choice if PJ (not PF Dave ) can't do it. At SDCC he really seemed to care about what us geeks thought. I for one love both Spideys though they may not be the most comic accurate movie ever made.

i agree with Dave, while part one is my favorite i think all the spiderman movies will be awesome. i think the reason why people dont like the spiderman films is because fantastic four didnt do as well. if raimi does the hobbit it will be good, but really different than the way jackson would probably do it.

Sam Rami is maybe one of THE BEST directors to come out of the woodwork of the 80's (how dare anyone naysay Evil Dead!) . BUT I do NOT want him directing the Hobbit, just seems wrong. We need PJ and that's that. We need a director who made a movie about puppets having sex and doing drugs, PETER JACKSON FOR LIFE!
